eselt, fay, mackeroo.....why do we do it? why did we do it? I could cry.

18 AF days so far. Headaches gone but still having nightmares and scary thoughts. Low tonight for the first time since i started, THAT of course could be the weight gain. Not to worry, i started the diet today.

    Onwards and upwards

    Night all xxx

    Night Annie

I know why I did it, I suspect others on here too have the same illness as me and that is alcoholism.
That's why I drank why I did, and needed help to stop drinking and recover. I could not do it by myself.
Now you can cry that you have this disease, or get on with life and enjoy it. It's not the end of the world that one cannot drink alcohol. My life is much better for not drinking.

Alcoholics drink alcoholically. Normal drinkers drink normally.
I found that when I accepted my drinking was not normal, and I couldn't drink normally with all the will in the world, my recovery became easier. Fight the truth and recovery is a difficult, painful process, and largely unsuccessful**

    Hi newbies!

Welcome aboard the mad AF train and wagon, here we go abstaining or cutting down, Which ever one we want each day at a time regaining control from the cool images the brewing companies sell to us to gain our hard earned cash willingly from us and pay the govt plenty of tax to line their pockets.

Anyway AF for me again tonight making it 13 now. See you all tomorrow for a longer visit and catch up!

    :hello:

    7AF please BB.

Hi All! Hope it's been a good day.
Welcome to mackeroo and very well done on your first AF day :T
Let's hope it's the first of many. I'm impressed that you're taking yourself in hand before it gets too difficult. I hadn't had an AF day in years before starting this challenge. I'm a cutter down, so I drink weekends and in the week on social occasions. It suits me that way and every AF day is a bonus!

Lovely to hear from you Mollypolly, envy you the sunshine, so kind of you to think of us. Do we know where you are?

I'm out to supper tomorrow but will be back on the wagon on Wednesday. Oh and I had far less to drink last night. Having had really bad 'wine flu' yesterday morning, I remembered my Kudzu and it seemed to help.

'night to all my virtual friends.

    Morning :D

Thank you Budgie for another great update & for the encouragement :T

Well done Mackeroo on your first AFD :T
Well done to everyone else too....just for trying :T:j:D

I reckon, if there was a prize for the thread with the most lurkers this thread would win hands down :D I lurked for ages before posting.
I found myself reading it every day and then went into denial stage and asked myself why I was even reading it as it didn't apply to me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Then I reached the acceptance stage and realised it did apply to me so I carried on reading it. Then eventually I reached the 'doing something positive about it' stage and started posting :D:rolleyes::eek:

    Best thing I did :j
