vicki; That makeover is awesome, so light and bright I love it. The dresser is brilliant and didnt even see the missing knob! Is that the blind you made up at the window? Well done you. Bet your OH is also keen on your makeovers especially when he eventually gets the sink in.....bargain.

Was flicking through the latest 25 beautiful homes mag and saw a house that had huge rooms but everything (and it seemed everything) was in various shades of brown. Bit depressing I thought (sorry all you brown lovers!) I am tempted to complain to that mag when it was first published there was a variety of homes, but now it seems all the small houses have been pushed out in favour of the celebrity style houses. I mean £150 per metre for curtains!!!

danemi1; I think red and green together is a really nice combination. I have been gathering
fabric in reds/pinks/greens to make an applique cushion....eventually. Lets have a peek.

If you're after a lamp in H*mbase they have quite large cream lamps with lampshade for £12.49 which I thought was a very good price (so I got one haha) Hubs thought it was going to be too big but it fits fine (after all what does he know!)

These are two hens that were painted on the dresser in the kitchen it also had two smaller hens on the top cupboard that I married up with an old 40's sideboard. We no longer have the bottom, the top is buried in the shed as we dont have room anymore.

I was going to suggest wallpaper paste or PVA for covering place mats with oilcloth.......can't think of anything else but there must be something around.
I've got some oilcloth -well tablecloth it was but doesn't fit the table and I don't know what to do with it apart from covering shelves (then the pattern won't be seen and it is pretty) - placemats would be ideal..........I've got some old ones that could do with a re-vamp.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Vicki - Wow! Love that transformation. You must be really pleased with it. Love the size of your dresser too - what colour did you use?

Pennib - Love your hens! Shame you don't live closer or I'd commission you to come paint all my furniture :D
