i finally finished this yesterday. my shabby chic , patchwork table runner. i love it. suits my dining rrom so well. Hard to photo as it so long i couldn't get a whole shot of it, unless i stood outside and took a pic through the window, lol.
Also my dining table is the £1000 one that i got from ebay for £9.99 last year. needs some tlc, but i think it adds to the rustic charm and we love it.0 -
Jennyjelly, I used to live in Stacksteads, and some of my children were born in Rawtenstall hospital. that was a loonnngg time ago as well!
Cherisong, thanks for that tip. Good idea to add bicarb with oils, will give it a go.
Stacksteads was my home town as well! Well I say home town, my parents moved down south when I was just a babe. Small world!Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
jcr that table runner is really beautiful. It will look lovely when your table is set.Oh dear, here we go again.0

Wow £9.99 thats a bargain of a table. Your runner will look extra special when you have all the bits and bobs on.
Danemi1 think we caused an echo!
Today I am re-painting the hallway white and taking down pictures that have been there for ages
and hopefully (eventually) painting some different ones as our tastes have changed over the years.0 -
Ooh fab tip about the oils on the window, I was only looking at mine earlier and thinking they could do with a clean
OH's Mum has asked me to help her redecorate her house in a shabby chic style before her friends come and visit in November! We're starting with the living room (OH ripped a load of fake dark wood beams off for her yesterday ) so I'm going to take my camera and try to get some before and afters to share with you all.
I just realised I've not added my own introduction...I'm one of the babies of the bunch I think (23 next Wed). I live in Lincolnshire in my own little girly flat, but am in the process of buying a 1930's semi with my lovely OH who I've been with for two and a half years. No children for a few years yet, just a very fluffy cat. I work as a freelance community artist which means delivering art and craft workshops around the area (mostly community groups), run my own face painting business and work 30 hours a week as an Education Officer at the local museum. So I have lots to keep me busy! The museum job future is looking very shaky so I've started my freelance work up again and have been doing lots of evenings and weekends, enjoying my first day off for about three weeks today!
