If you have got several wallparer samples you could do this, (photo is from Alicia Paulson's blog 'Posy gets Cosy':

That's lovely :T I have seen walls like this in mags lately - it seems to be the new thing to do. I did think about doing one of these patchwork walls in the dining room recently but decided against it and went for a simple floral paper on one wall. I came home from B&Q and Focus with lots of samples - wont waste them as I can use them for other craft projects.

After seeing that pic though I want one of those patchwork walls again, wonder where I could put one ....................

Well done on your fridge/freezer :D
I love poking around in CS's, I just stand and look at the rails or shelves and i see something I can make with what ever I see :rotfl:
I dont see a blouse or a sheet I see bags or something I can paint.
I have always had a nack of seeing the potential in things but I want the time to do it all :rotfl:

I know exactly what you mean. I am a bit like that too I am drawn by the colours or the fabric rather than the style but just lately I am going through a dry period! Not having a sewing machine is driving me potty. I really didnt realise what a stress reliever it was or how much I used it. I have a denim skirt which is quite nice but I am just never comfortable in it. I have a plan to turn it into a bag and add some patchwork to it but I just need to sort out a machine first. Also I often buy clothes to turn into other things. At the moment though I am trying to concentrate on furniture that I can restore/shabby up.

Hi all, I think I should start and recycle old clothes and just use them for practice sewing. I have a machine (given to me) but no real idea how to use it!

Sorry about the size...will have to learn how to reduce! One step at a time eh!

I bought the footstool for £8 from Boomerang (local charity furniture recycling place) It is covered first in calico, then on top....wait for it......a teatowel from Tesco! Good eh.

I know what you mean about sewing being a stress reliever, I love to spend my weekend sewing :D but week days are hard as Im so busy with work and helping at my son's school :( I see my sewing machine sitting on my table and I get so frustrated not being able to use it, even evenings are out as I work till 8.30.

Charity shops are great a great help, Ive just got another 2 pillow cases this morning :o but now I have so many quilts I want to get on with.
I also have loads of things to paint/shabby Im running out of space here :rotfl:
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

  • That footstool is fantastic newmee - must get some of those teatowels, you won't be letting anyone actually put their feet on it will you ?? :rotfl:

I forgot to say that I picked up some reduced satinwood paint the other day in focus diy - marked down from 9.99 to just 2.99 and 3.99. I was able to get a few tins they seemed to have lovely pale greens, neutrals and soft blues. Might be worth keeping your eyes peeled for them - it was in the old packaging which they have changed now to a diffrent style and name, but the same colours.
