As soon as we get a move in date I am going to hunt down furniture (we live in furnished rented atm) from charity shops, ebay, freecyle etc and shabby chic them!

Vikki your room is beautiful :T I now want to get on with mine :)
My OH did some work in the garden this wkend and had some off cuts of wood he was going to dump but I rescued them and turned them into this :D

    http://i906.photobucket.com/albums/ac266/hart4334/mse/mycoathooks.jpg

I used the rest of the transfers from my chest of drawers make-over and I had some plain cupboard knobs, I sanded the wood and painted it with the sample paint I got from Farrow and Ball (its white tie) then put clear varnish over it :D
It will go in my bedroom :D
forgot to say I still have to put the screw holes in

Ooooh this made me think- have I got any offcuts I could do anything little with?

That thought led to- what am I going to do with the pine trees that were felled last week???

Then I decided that as the tree trunks are only about 3 1/2 feet long and at most 4 inches wide then they're useless for making anything, can't use them for fencing, making wigwams, or anything- tey're too short. Can't use them as logs to sit on- too narrow...

*Lightbulb* Ahaaaa.... But I could just sink a couple into the floor like fence posts but sunk deeply, then nail any old plank across the top. Ooooh yeah

So I'm gonna! Now- where in the heck am I gonna find a free plank? Ladies? Chaps? Anyone?

Gawd I wish my bright ideas came in kit-form! :rotfl:

    I hope you feel better.

I was given a huge boost by finding a colour chart of silks that I remember my mother aving in her handbag for seemingly ever when i was younger. Those tny squares of softly sheening brilliant colour were as uplifting now as they were when I was small. I remember being profoundly disappointing when my mother opted, ultimately, for a plain cream. I've been wondering if there is anything I can do with those tiny squares of silk. Too small for patchwork quilt but it would be glorious!

Is there enough to do 1 side of a cushion in patchwork, or around a picture so that it will be a focal point in a room? Or a stained glass panel to hang in a gloomy window so that they don't fade & will perk the room up?
I love the bedroom, a real sanctuary.
