Wow, I have only been away today and the posts have been breeding! Newmee I love your piano and table. I too have a piano and so I will pinch the idea of the bunting I think.
LIR - I started out thinking that I would post a commiseration post to you and by the end realised I would be saying congratulations. Bibbity too sounds like things are moving for you both. I think that I too would put the cabinet back on freecycle if you are stuck for ideas. Sometimes its just not worth the effort. I will head over to your blog to check the tables if that is ok because I save up the blog reading for evenings so I can go to bed with lots of ideas floating in my head. Strange thing happened the other day my dashboard said you had posted but it wasnt there when I went to look.
Re the health stuff - Me too, I have been diagnosed with something called Menieres disease (5 years after they started trying to decide and told me it may be ME) Maybe it just motivates us all to do things that we can do at home which is much safer for me than trying to do sports etc.

Yay Dunelm Mill! I didnt realise how good it was for lovely pretty things at a nice price until I saw this on Good Housekeeping, just thought it was a lovely picture. And all your lovely posts about Dunelm Mill made me want to go there. Think I might have to order online.

It amazes me how you all manage to find things on eBay!
I only ever manage to find things here in Norwich that are soooo expensive...0 -
I spent quite a while waiting for my oak dresser to turn up on ebay. I made a search for 'oak dresser' and set it for a location within 25 miles of my home postcode, a price limit of £50 and then set up daily notifications. I was sent many emails of 'frogs' before my 'prince' arrived...
BTW, I would be cautious about posting links to things you fancy before the auctions are over. Remember that this thread is public and gets hundreds of viewers - you may end up in a bidding war with someone tipped off by your own link.....0 -
I'd never even heard of Dunelm Mill before. Still....no spending money thanks to our new ''Money Pit''
so I simply mustn't be tempted!

Bibbitybob wrote: »Thanks lostinrates. To be honest a move seems so very distant due to the long process we've been through so far, but at least we are now a step further than we have been with the Halifax. This time tomorrow we should know the outcome of the survey, so hoping the figure they quote is enough to seal the deal.
In other news, I collected a cabinet off freecycle at the weekend. It was described as a 'glass and mirrored floral french style sideboard'. I was expecting loveliness along these lines
but it's more like this
I've painted the outside in Dimity, but there are brown plastic strips down the side which look pretty bleugh and I can't think of anything to do with them. Also, I was going to wallpaper the back but the shelves don't come out without taking the whole thing apart *sigh*
I'm wondering whether to just stick it back on freecycle, or whether to continue and see if I can make it nice. I've lost all enthusiasm with this one I'm afraid
Also, my Cath Kidston dollshouse didn't sell in the end so I'm giving up for now. If I watch CK furniture it always sells for a fortune, but when I try and sell something no-one's interested, typical!! :rotfl:
Bibbity, you may remember me from the shabby chic forum. I bought something similar and spent an age painting it and trying to scrape off the gold paint before eventually giving up!We all make mistakes - get rid unless you love it!

I have been asked to amend my post but have a look at their website direct for the £10 saving.
Thanks again.
I have tried a couple of times to order from this site but it keeps telling me that my card is rejected. I am using a debit card and wondered if it wants a credit card. I tried again tonight but same story although I know there is no problem with the card as I used it earlier. I loved the look of your packages and the fact that there is a handwritten card. i thought that I could order something as an end of the month treat to myself for working so hard. If they turn up like that then it would truly be a a treat. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar.
