Get Michelins from Costco, they will be about the same price as cheap tyres elsewhere0

I think I have P3000's on my Focus. I dont remember changing them in a long time. Then again im not a harsh driver, I drive average 10k a year but im not lead footed.0

The trouble with this debate is that you can't just look at brands you have to look at each tyre each brand make. Take Toyo.
You could get a set of these http://www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=products&product_id=18
Real boy racers tyres will be ditch finders in the wet!
I have these on the MX5 http://www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=products&product_id=2
I want good tyres with good wet performance its a light car so so not 2 hard on the tyres untill you press the go pedel then you could chew tyres up in few miles. I would go for Goodyear F1's but they don't make them small enough anymore.
Then there is http://www.toyo.co.uk/productdetail.php?identity=products&product_id=3
Good tyre for your family car (never had a set) but sure they would work!
They are all Toyo Proxes but if I got the CF1 insted of the T1R's on my car it would be dire to drive.0 -
Check camskill.co.uk for prices on Michelins too. Sometimes they come under costco for price depending on what deals are going on.0

Excellent point ! As I said, I'm about as far removed from a Boy Racer as you could get, and the Toyo's that the guy recommended to me were amongst the cheapest on offer - I'd never heard of them before but was very pleased with how long they lasted. You live and learn :-) That perhaps raises the point that if you can find a local independant tyre shop, they should be able to advise you based on your particular requirements - i..e what's really best for you, rather than what they make the most profit on :-)0 -
Renowned for being very grippy, so fun, but not very long lasting...
Mine are coming up to 16,000 miles now, Fronts have just been moved to the back as they are a little worn on outside edge,(just passed MOT and not a mention) Backs moved to front have loads of tread left. Thats on a Celica that is driven with much gusto :rotfl:
They are the best tyres I have ever used, so much grip, even better that the goodyear eagle F1's I had on the Camaro and a damn sight cheaper.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
the fact a tyre is Toyo/michelin/firestone/pirelli/goodyear means very little realy you need to kno the types personl for me if you like the tyres you have keep with them unless there good reason not to0

I insist on very high performance tyres as to me its critical. For a long time I have only ever used the fairly extreme Goodyear Eagle F1's which are really amazing but wear is terrible and they are noisy - bear with me...
So recently after a lot of research I switched to Dunlop SP Sports 01 and I am very impressed. about 75% of the grip of the Eagle F1 but extremely quiet and smooth. Even better is that they are wearing very well. Going to be my tyre of choice now on. I do a lot of miles and get through 2 or 3 sets of fronts a year.
