I'm tempted to write and say, "Oh, so sorry. I have a Fiesta but it's a '99 and a 2006 MPV that I guess would be too large for your needs..."

Seriously - this irritates me and I am unable to say exactly why.

I gave away a portable TV - an old one which worked perfectly - some time ago.
The guy that came to collect it inspected it and told me it wouldn't do as it didn't have a SCART socket and then cleared off :eek: Ungrateful b*gger.

I re-advertised it, and it finally went to a student new to the area who was grateful to have it and be able to watch some TV. Should've reported that other idiot to the Mods.

I'm sorry, I disagree with this.
I presume that when this person said he'd take your TV he had a purpose in mind for it. Maybe to play DVDs for the kids?
If it wasn't fit for his purpose, then what's the point in him taking it? He could have taken it and taken it straight to the tip. Or put it straight back on freecycle. Or tried to sell it. But what's the point in any of that?
What he did meant that the TV got used.
