Kaupthing Edge/ ING

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Has anyone yet received a tax certificate for ING, 2008/2009 that there account was original with kaupthing edge, I want to know if it includes Kapthing tax deductions, or will receive separate tax certificate from Kaupthing edge. Thanks in advance.

Yes those tax certificates have been issued by ING. They show both the ING and the former Kaupthing details.

Had my ING tax certificate this week and it did not contain any interest previously gained with Kaupthing.
A couple of months ago I did receive a statement of account from Kaupthing from which I totted up the tax earned during the financial year.

The ING statement, whilst showing zero interest for Kaupthing, did actually make mention of the Kaupthing account. As the Kaupthing account is a bond, and interest on it is not due until this year, this is why is showed zero against the Kaupthing account, I guess.

I guess you are in a different position to me. My Kaupthing account was easy access and ING made no reference to it in my tax certificate. I received monthly interest from Kaupthing and it is this that I added up in order to complete my tax return.

Ah yes, that'll be the reason I suspect. But a bit odd that they haven't referred to your account on the tax certificate.

I've received a tax certificate direct from Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander today, so in some circumstances they must be sending them out direct.

I had an instant access Kaupthing savings account, interest received monthly.

I closed the account and moved my capital plus interest out just as everyone stampeded for the exit last October. The money was lost in the ether for a week and then reappeared.

There's mention on the back of the tax certificate that the account was transferred to ING on 8/10/08 and any questions are to be directed to them. I'm not sure, given the account with closed with Kaupthing, whether this actually happened or not in my case. (I've already had an ING tax deduction certificate for a separate dormant savings account I have with them but as far as I can tell, nothing for the transferred Kaupthing account!)

Would be useful if Icesave did the same but I understand that they/the government aren't going to bother!

Thank you for replys, i have received a tax certificate from ING, with out Kaupthing account. I have called them and they say it will be sent separate. However is it possible to find out what interest was earnt from tax paid,( i have this figure) ie work backwards on figures.But for the forms i need gross/net/tax paid, I really need to get my tax rebate claim in as i going away. I Had to order the ING tax certificate but they wont let me order the Kaupthing edge.!!...Thanks.

Sometimes they will tell you this information over the phone if you ask for it. Have you tried that?

Yes they did for the ING but they cant/wont give me Kaupthing edge.
