Krystaltips - I am so sorry to hear about your cat :grouphug: - wont they release him to whichever private emergency vet is covering the bank hol or out of hours? In cardiff where i am - if it is out of hours a cat goes to the out of hours vet who can do ops and x rays there - if its really bad and needs a specialist as one of mine did i had a cat privatley ambulanced to Langford Small Animal Hospital (somewhere near cheddar gorge i think) - i did have insurance though.

You could have a look on the internet where the out of hours vet is and get someone to move him from one to the other - i have taken very poorley animals in taxis before. If you were near cardiff i could have helped :(

still seems a bit weird. but i can understand that this is probably the natural way and would have been so for 1000's of years.
not for me but i have learnt something new today. thanks skintchick.

(i may just use this to scare the bejesus out of oh tonight)

My OH isn;t sure about this one I have to say, and I may not do it as i'm sure delayed cutting has almost as good a benefit, but I'm maintaining an open mind on it for now.

I know of one woman who told her OH that when you cut the cord, the placenta is like a chicken and moves around afterwards on its own! :rotfl: Apparently he totally fell for it! :T

Thanks JHA, I don't understand why they won't just xray him while they have him... From what hubby could gather, there's not a lot more they can do apart from keeping him on painkillers until he's been xrayed, and our local vet won't xray out of hours anyway... So probably best the RSPCA keep him for now... Although I don't know if they're going to give us a hefty bill when we fetch him... He's such a lovely cat too... And I know your not supposed to have favourites... But he is the best one out the 3...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
