Ladies, does anyone know anything about elimination communication? I'm trying to get more info and apart from a Yahoo group (which I've joined) I'm struggling to find info.

    EDIT - I've found some.

Tell me, am I wrong to be proud of my DS1 who is not a violent, foul mouthed little thug? Took DS2 to the park to find 3 of them throwing sticks at DS1 and his mate who were up a tree. Even though I was there they still kept yelling things. Although, after having a run in with the ring leaders mother, I expect no less.

    hey lovely ladies!

I was up early, had a little bit of (ahem) action and went off to pregnancy yoga, got picked for some freebie reflexology sessions to help with my hurty hips which was a bonus! Then me and my other bumpy friend went to the farmers market and for breakfast at the cafe round the corner from me....now i'm so full i feel sick and my hips hurt from the tiny amount of walking i did....useless!

spinks - i went for the cotton ones (ebay bargain) but i hear the bamboo ones are very good, more absorbant and dry quicker if that helps?

elle - have you tried H&M, I've got my vest tops from there (non-maternity range) and they are REALLY long, perfect for bump coverage

Should be very proud that he showed them how much of a better person he was, much easier to lower himeslf to their level. Always tell my kids to turn their backs on kids like that.

Glam - nope, too knackered! lol

tia - thanks for the reassurance. It was only a tiny bit when I went to the loo this morning & I've had no more since, so I'm hoping it was just the standard spotting that comes with being preggers. will be on close knicker-watch (lol), but trying to remain optimistic as otherwise will worry self sick.

Really need to hoover & sweep house, but will take it really slow and not do anything intense

tia - be very proud! you've raised a respectful, decent son :T

    afternoon everyone
i notice we have some more newbies join!!

well went to asda and have bought the breast pump 1/2 price £10 and got a cold water/microwave steriliser also 1/2 price so £20 for both rather than £40.00
now have 3 small 5fl.oz bottles which i hope will be enough at first. i plan to breastfeed and express so hubby can also feed. is 3 enough???

felt really nervous and sick that i was buying them as i am really panicing that if i buy something, something will go wrong.
the boxes are downsatirs at the moment but i think i;ll ask mil if i can keep them at her house for a while longer.
i know i sound totally irrational but i just cant get over the fear that if i buy somthing, it will all go wrong.

jillie - that's a fantastic price for a pump!! hope they're that cheap again when I'm ready to buy in the fall

    Brace yourself...

It's basically when you don;t use nappies, but instead potty train from birth.

The theory, which I happen to subscribe to, is that just like babies know when they're hungry, they also know when they want to go to the toilet.

The idea of EC is that you learn their facial expressions, noises, etc., to knwo when they need it, and hold them over a bowl making a cue noise such as 'pssss'. You also do it by timing as newborns apparently need hte loo 20 mins after eating, or something like that.

Obviously, you also do miss some and it takes time, but you can use nappies a bit if you want, say overnight or on journeys, and ultimately it means you don;t have to do toilet training later on.

There are Yahoo groups and forums for it and I know it's pretty way out but then I seem to be pretty way out and hippyish with all my baby stuff and I'm keen to find out more and give it a go.

I found a few websites on it, mostly American, and they reckon you can do it a bit even if you work, but I will be at home full-time so reckon I can give it a fair crack and see if I can work it, although I plan to have nappies at home as well.

I can post some links if anyone is interested, but I appreciate it's probably a bit of a niche activity!
