Such a minefield isn't it g-i-s-i... Hubby still loves Dexter... And I don't mind it... But I hate the thought of someone shortening it to Dex... I just don't like that...

Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Dexter is my brother's middle name- my Dad was given free rein to choose a middle name and he plumped for that. My brother is 14, so it was a while ago now. I guess it would inevitably be shortened to Dex, but I still think it's a great name.

    Ladies, I need some advice.

I have been reading back a few pages, skimming really, and see you were all talking about maternity leave. I want to take most of my time after baby is here and was planning to work up until the friday before baby is due. I think that is when I have to leave (so 18th with baby due 22nd Sept). Am I right in thinking that if it all gets a bit too hot/tiring/hard work that I can just get the Doctor to sign me off and ML starts from then?

Sorry if you have covered this but I couldn't see it anywhere.

Thanks for any help you can offer

I worked up until the Friday with my DS, I was due on the Tuesday 30th October 2001. I was working for the NHS, and I found out that you cannot be paid after the Sunday preceding your due date (does that make sense?), so there was no point me even turning up for work on the Monday. Might be worth checking - no point working up until your actual due date if you won't be paid past the preceding Sunday!

Thanks Searching...just what I wanted to hear. I really don't like waiting around, especially for something that I'm so excited about. I'd hate to be sat here feeling like I was wasting my leave just because that was the date that sounded right weeks beforehand.

Got my scan on wednesday. Can't wait to find out what I'm going to be blessed with.
In fact, just want to see him or her again. Though I guess it's ok as it is making it's presence felt this week with its trampolining!!! Just when I needed to concentrate on a course as well. Every time it moved I just drifted off into dreamland. God knows how I'll pass next weeks exam.
