MM, just tell them that of course it is much better for you do it the natural way and die cos that's what happened in the olden days in the corn fields, but for some strange reason the Doctors think it's probably best if you are alive to raise your child.

Then stand and watch their faces. :rotfl:

Tooth ache is natural, but I still want drugs for it!

    You know what tia,
that really cheered me up no end !! :D

SM - you've reminded me 2 of the 'girls' from mum's work were preg and due within a week of each other. One is a friend of mine the other I don't really know but know I wouldn't get on with her - she works in a primary school and always comes to work in full make up and high heels and designer clothes. After they had both had their bubbas we found out she'd lied and told everyone she just had the paracetamol at home and gas n air for pushing, when she'd had gas n air and pethadine coz she needed forceps - she just wanted to out do my friend who had an unplanned no drugs at all homebith.
    Its not a competition

I had a friend when I was expecting no 1 who was superfit and a real natural health freak. She was having a home birth, with water pool and no pain relief, and was making those of us planning the hospital birth with open minds feel very inadequate.

When her contractions started at home, her hubby leaped up to start filling up the water pool, to be told: "What the f**k good, do you think that's going to do, get me to hospital now!". And he did, and the rest of us who gave birth after she did, felt a lot better for some reason ;)

See I want a vaginal birth this time, not because I think it is better, but because I am !!!! scared of a section. So I can understand those who are the other way. I wanted to try giving birth without any pain relief because I hate feeling drugged up (I will not use gas and air because it makes me feel drunk which I hate). But I ended up with an epidural and know what? It was great for me. I was too swollen for it to stop everything but it allowed me to sleep between contractions and next day I was up and moving about fine. Lots of the girls have managed home births on nowt but gas and air, and that worked for them. Everyone is different, some choices people make I wouldn't choose but it doesn't make it wrong. Who cares so long as you are putting the life and well being of your child and yourself first? That's all taht's important.

My idiot printer just printed me a map with just place names and no roads.... It's senile I tell you!

Sami, DS1 (7) still gets most of it on and around the toilet seat... in fact so does his Daddy.... males like to spread it around a bit.
