MM, just tell them that of course it is much better for you do it the natural way and die cos that's what happened in the olden days in the corn fields, but for some strange reason the Doctors think it's probably best if you are alive to raise your child.

Then stand and watch their faces. :rotfl:

Tooth ache is natural, but I still want drugs for it!

SM - you've reminded me 2 of the 'girls' from mum's work were preg and due within a week of each other. One is a friend of mine the other I don't really know but know I wouldn't get on with her - she works in a primary school and always comes to work in full make up and high heels and designer clothes. After they had both had their bubbas we found out she'd lied and told everyone she just had the paracetamol at home and gas n air for pushing, when she'd had gas n air and pethadine coz she needed forceps - she just wanted to out do my friend who had an unplanned no drugs at all homebith.
    Its not a competition
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

I know, and my post was maybe a bit OTT, but in the last week or so I have been told that I am defying nature, even though I had an emergency section the last time and they all thought that was fine !!!!
Apparently me putting my future health at risk is more important than having a healthy baby and mummy

You need to do what's right for you and stuff the rest, MM.

I had a planned C-Section for number 1 for medical reasons, and a VBAC for number 2 which went wrong and was hell on earth! I really want another planned c section this time round, though haven't had this conversation with my doctor yet. And if anyone dares to criticise me or say I'm too posh to push or any of the other nasty digs people make, they'd better hope they have a high pain threshold as they'll need it :D

Fortunately, the two friends I have discussed this with all think I am absolutely right to be thinking this way (they are both mums themselves and by coincidence both former midwives), so if other friends don't agree with me, at least I know I'll have some support from somewhere!
