I asked him where does he think the changing unit should live, and he reckons in the bathroom (yeah right, it's tiny ) or the bedroom. He says it's easier to have all nappies/wipes etc in one handy place where we can change baby.

I say i don't feel inclined to traipse upstairs everytime i change a nappy .

He says just let me have this one thing it's not gonna affect you... I am stubborn but as long as this means he gets no say in anything i want to buy then i'm tempted to back down :D.

On a more serious note, his ex is a good mum and ttc for a long time but is around 8 years older than me and is happy to play role of pinny wearing mumsy. I am anxious this will cause a lot of comparison issues between us, as we've had issues about comparisons in the past. He used to be the type of husband who had tea on table when he got home, didn't do any chores except DIY etc (manly stuff).
Don't get me wrong i am also a good mum but i am also lazy when it comes to housework, and i do cook proper meals, but when i had DS i was all alone and fed on a lot of jar food - i was 18 and working so this suited me and DS is fine.
OH always preaches on about how his ex made all home-made stuff for their kids and i feel like he's getting on at me even though i've done well being alone for 5 years .

Anyway this turned into a rant, you might wonder if we're ready for kids but it's a bit late for that now :D. We're as ready as we'll ever be and it was him who insisted i get my coil out (although i doubt this is the story he'll tell his family).

Would a compromise be a cot-top changer (I think that's what they're called). So, OH still gets the changing unit but you can move it out of the way if you don't want to use it and also it isn't an extra piece of furniture in the nursery.

Good idea - i'd not thought of this, i shall put it to him when we're friends again :rotfl: (we didn't fall out over this, but my apparent mood swings :D he's upstairs reading)

I wish we had a nursery, we have 2 bed house so i'm really hoping it's a boy so it can share with DS when it leaves my room. Otherwise we'll have to look at renting elsewhere.

I know searching, i think i've been extra sensitive to this stuff he says though, i know he doesn't mean anything by it but being a typical bloke he doesn't realise what he's saying.
