Having a minor disagreement with OH already - he insists we buy a changing unit as he had one in previous relationship for his daughter but i think it's unnecessary and i'm happy to use a plain old mat on the floor/sofa/bed/wherever suitable by size of baby etc.

Should i just back down on this one? :o

Some people swear by them beanie. Personally not me, I used the mat on the floor, on top of the bed or just with baby lying on my knee !!!

I wanna met them if I were u too!
I'm not fussed about meeting her - I didn't meet my last one either but you'd think they'd wanna see me before prescribing a controlled drug:confused:

Did you get it in Asda ??? Talk it back and tell them, they might be able to do a swap for you.

yes it was, i might see if i can salvage the bag from the bin in the morning and try to exchange it. the vouchers all expire 31st march.

The top of Aimee's chest of drawers was a changing unit... I could never be bothered to take her upstairs to change her which is why our changing mat lives under the armchair in the living room... And has been there for the last 5 years, even though Aimee's been out of nappies for 2 1/2... And I'm pretty sure I used to use it for my neice too and she's 8 now...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I've heard differing opinions on this. Some people swear by them (especially if they have a bad back) whereas others see them as a complete waste of money.

Personally, I've gone for an in-between solution - we've bought a changing mat but we have a "lump" in the nursery where the stairs come up, and which is about hip height, so are going to put the mat on there. However, the bonus is that we can take the mat downstairs or anywhere else we want.

Would a compromise be a cot-top changer (I think that's what they're called). So, OH still gets the changing unit but you can move it out of the way if you don't want to use it and also it isn't an extra piece of furniture in the nursery.
