Got to agree with GG on this one.
Does it not worry anyone else that the leader of one of our main political parties can not see that the 'first units' charge is just an admin fee previously included as 'standing charge' before some marketing genious came up with 'no standing charge' tariffs.
I can see green arguements for making energy cost more as usage increases and social arguements for subsidising energy use for the poorest and most vulnerable (although a pure efficiency arguement might be that making eregy artificially cheap for some groups encourages spending on energy rather than on energy saving measures like insulation) but I would hope that Mr Clegg could understand the pricing structure before making pronouncements?MSE_Martin wrote: »Our first politician has agreed to read the final compiled list, and its a party leader. Cheapest Energy Units should be the first
It’s unfair that the first energy units you use are the most expensive: it’s harder to save money by cutting back. The first units should be cheapest, so people who use least, pay least. But I’d protect any low income families who genuinely need lots of energy with lower “social tariffs”.I think....0 -
I think this is slightly unfair. Im sure he does understand the pricing structure as this is one of his personal pet subjects; but he did have a 50 word limit like everyone else.Got to agree with GG on this one.

Free up land for some community self-build projects as per the 1970s. Those who wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise could build their own home while at the same time learning valuable trade(s).Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Martin - I take on board your comments re Mr Clegg, just worried that politicians tend to 'shoot first' with something populist without actually understanding the economics of what they are saying...
Anyway my latest idea is that all packaging should have printe don it info on how it should be recycled. I know LAs differ but surely ther eare pluses in having a consistent scheme and making sure each item has details - I often put things to landfill just because I am not sure which bin they could go in (sandwich cartons with plastic windows, those plastic trays that meat comes in, the ones ready meals come in, the 'film that covers the ready meal trays etc)...I think....0 -
Keep everything to an adequate, but basic level in prisons. No luxuries allowed for anyone. Any able bodied in-mates to be put to money generating work within the facility. No outworkers/expense of 'guarding'.0

I've added another to my top post (i forgot this one originally)
Water Rates Should Be Challengable
Unlike council tax where if your property is overvalued you can be rebanded (see council tax rebanding), water rates are now over twenty years old and haven't moved with the times. People need a right to challenge unfair water rates.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

Hi,
Would the Water Rates section exclude Scotland as the charge is directly related to your Council Tax band?0 -
The government should help mothers or father to stay home and raise their kids instead of them making it difficult to survive if you wish to be a stay at home parent. I didn't have kids to hand them over to someone else to raise. Bring back family values.0

Until we change the money supply the money controllers at the BoE etc are more powerful than the government.
This is the only goal. Change the money supply. This is what terrorists are putting their lives on the line against - usury.Order of events: Banks lose our money -> get bailed out -> were inflating GBP to cover it -> now taxing us -> next will grab your funds direct -> things get really desperate to balance the books. What should have happened?: banks go bust and we lost our money much quicker0 -
End all bonuses in the financial sector and make ALL staff of banks bailed out (owned) by the tax payer Civil Servants on the exact same pay, grading and T&Cs as the DWP.0
