Hi everyone, just thought I'd share my good news.
I have an EasyCash BBA with Halifax. I went in the other day to deposit some cash, but the machine wasn't working (you have to use the machine, not the counter with EasyCash), so I went to the counter to deposit my cash.
The bank clerk asked if I'd be interested in upgrading my account, I explained I'd love to but have a CCJ from 2006 and am not on the ER. She said it was coming up as "guaranteed" and would ask the woman who deals with bank account applications. She came over and assured me I'd be accepted, so she booked me an appointment.
She asked if I had any credit cards, I told her Cap1 and Vanquis and she said that I'd be guaranteed a CC too!
I remained sceptical all through the appointment, but fair play to Halifax I now have:
Ultimate Reward Account with £100 no-charge overdraft
Halifax CC, £3400 limit, with 0% on purchases for 12 months and 0% on balance transfers for 9 months. 19.5% APR thereafter.
Obviously, I've BT'd Cap1 and Vanquis.
Well chuffed! :beer:Halifax Ultimate Reward - £500 OD limit
Halifax CC - £4900 limit
Capital One Classic - £500 limit
Orange Phone - £20pcm
Jacamo - £900 limit
Vanquis - £1250 limit0 -

Yeah I know, got some good advice in this thread too.
I'm buying a car off a friend and going to use the credit card to do it.
Is there any way of doing this without using a CC cheque as I'd like to get the 0% on purchases for 12 months to kick in
I was wondering if I could do it via PayPal?Halifax Ultimate Reward - £500 OD limit

Your friend will have to pay a fee though in order to withdraw funds
Are you not allowed a 'super balance transfer' ie funds directly to your bank account or is it just purchases.Natwest gold..Limit £1750 bal £970..Vanquis Limit £3000 bal £0..Littlewoods..Limit £1200 bal 0..Additions direct..Limit £4900 bal £1356..Empire Limit £6200 bal £152..Jd williams..Limit £1100 bal £130..Simplybe..Limit £1500 bal 265,,Fashion world..Limit £1400 bal £145 Jacamo..Limit£125 bal 0
