Evening all'Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0

12thth May 2009
To Whom It May Concern:
I write with reference to my recent application for a HSBC Credit Card and your subsequent decision to decline me the facility.
I’d like to appeal your original decision as I feel I can provide a written statement and additional information to support my application, which I hope will allow you to possibly reverse your decision in my favor.
The basis for my appeal is as follows:
I had a My Money account with HSBC when I was under 18, which was run very well. This account was closed and in January, I opened a HSBC Plus Account with you. Since January, this account has been run within the terms and conditions. I have never gone overdrawn, have multiple direct debits with you and have all of my incomes paid into this account.
Since March, I have been working part-time at Odeon Cinemas, while studying. I have now finished studying and as of 11th June 2009, I work full-time at XXXXXXXXX as a teaching assistant. I also still work at the Odeon. Along with this, I receive DLA monthly. My total annual income is around £14000 and is paid monthly into my HSBC account (Teaching assistant first pay on 15th July).
I currently have two credit cards that I am using to build my credit rating and to prove that I am a trustworthy customer. Both of these Credit Cards have been paid on time each month. I have attached 3 months statements of both credit cards for your information.
With my explanation of my current credit agreements and my income, I hope you can adjust the original decision to a positive one in my favor and give me a chance to show HSBC that I am a good customer, loyal and trustworthy.
I look forward to your response, hopefully with better news than last time, and to a future business relationship together as my main credit card provider.
I have also attached a copy of my latest Credit Report from Experian. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.
Yours faithfully0 -

I have attached 3 months statements of both credit cards for your perusal. I have also attached a copy of my latest Credit Report from Experian which clearly shows the credit accounts I have, the limits and the payment history. There is also no adverse data registered.
I have recently been into the branch and they did say that my internal behaviour score was high enough to apply for the credit card account, although at the time I was in a rush and told them I'd apply on-line. Obviously, being you have direct access to my daily banking you can see that I handle my finances well and within limit every month. As such, could you please look to reverse the original automated decision, I do think you're turning away good business especially as I do like to leave a small balance on my credit card and would much prefer to give any interest to my main bank.
With my explanation of my current credit agreements and my income, I hope you can reverse the original decision to a positive one in my favour and give me a chance to show HSBC that I am a good customer, loyal and trustworthy.
I look forward to your reply, hopefully with a better outcome than the last time I heard from you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information or documentation to prove my income/expenditure.
Yours faithfully

Nah, i've just done that many appeals and letters that they come as second nature so to help others I tend to do the letters. The letter by Effect was great, all I done was add a bit and jumble it around so it flows in order...... nothing big.
I try to be helpful though lol

Top man. Thank you so much. I'll get this all printed and posted tomorrow before my graveyard shift at the cinema (5pm to 1am).
