How do you know sherlock? :rotfl:0 -
So the wind is in the same direction at the moment then? :rotfl:
Yes, although the wind did go awol for a second as I thought about changing everything to Barclays so I could have a better chance of getting a Barclaycard initial, plus I like their pre-approved section.... but HSBC it is for now.0 -
A few days ago, I was talking about a family member of mine who has one of the worst credit historys you can imagine. Several 10's of thousands of pounds in debt and had been avoiding the letters for near enough 5 years now. She previously tried applying for Vanquis and Capital One and had not been accepted.
However, a couple of days ago, I applied for a Capital One card again, on her behalf. Putting in all her details and what not. Today she received a letter saying she had been accepted.
I can't for the life of me understand why Capital One would accept her with thousands of pounds in debt outstanding, numerous defaults, CCJ's and whatever else.
Just shows what a complete mystery the whole application procedure is.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Indeed. I can get Aqua, Vanquis and CapitalOne, but can't get a Halifax current account, or an overdraft with any bank.0

Has she changed address at all in the last 5 years? May have something to do with it if they arent linked somehow?
Other than that who knows!!0 -

Yeah. She has lived in 4 different addresses in the last 5 years. And, she doesn't even have a bank account! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The address situation has probably helped. I doubt she has made any of her creditors aware she has moved 4 times!
If they havent caught up yet she may be able to get a bank account. Make hay while the sun shines! Not that the sun has shone much today mind0
