Still disappointed after not getting an Empire account, but at least my Aqua PIN arrived today. Just waiting for the card now
Also still waiting for the PIN number for my Vanquis card, there seems to be a hell of a backlog at Vanquis at the moment

I think i mentioned on another thread it took about a month to get my Vanquis and Aqua cards from application date to finally receiving card and pin. Painful!

Thanks for the good lucks. I have a feeling I'll be seeing a "We're sorry" letter soon from Flybe but hey, you never know.

I see Play.com has just released a credit card, could be worth applying for if they are desperate for customers to get that venture off the ground?

I've never used them, but i hear play.com are a bit of a ropey company. Even if i could get their card, i'm not sure i'd want one .

Congratulations!! You're probably better off without Empire anyway, the prices of products in catalogues at so expensive, I'm surprised they are allowed to get away with it. A product I was looking at had been overpriced by £300!

Yeah, true, they are expensive. But my boyfriend has Littlewoods (who also refused me, and same sort of company) and I know how good their deals are, he has ordered me a new wardrobe on his account which I don't have to pay for until April next year. Other stuff he pays over 3 mths so no interest. That's the reason I wanted to go with them. Also got good clothes :rotfl:

I think I applied for Vanquis on the 7th and Aqua on the 8th, so a fair amount of waiting already. Aqua would be later anyway as I had to sign the agreement and post it.
My boyfriend applied to Abbey around that time and he's got both already

Yeah, I use Kays for purchasing clothes and other inexpensive bits. For the cheaper products, they usually are roughly the same price as the high street. And the Buy Now Pay Later comes in very useful.

I was looking at a laptop in Kays priced at £1100, Dixons were selling the very same laptop for £800. I'm surprised Office of Fair Trading hasn't stepped in and put a stop to this.

Hey guys, I've tried to apply for an Argos card, I emaild them to tell them i was on Disability and asked them which opion to chose when it says Employed, Unemployed Retired etc and they said to select Retired? Unfortunatly i got declined, so what do you suggest i put in future for other aplications? As im sure there systems will see something wrong when someone in there 20s is retired :/

Have you tried applying for Vanquis or Aqua? The Argos card is quite hard to get, from personal experience.

And If I were in your position, I would select Unemployed. They still ask for your income despite being unemployed and of course, you can enter your disability allowance or whatever you receive. I think it would raise flags if a 20 something year old selected retired.
