Evening all. I just got my free trial thing with equfax today and there are 3 defaults listed, 1 was defalted 14 may 2003 and the other 2 on oct 2003. should the may 1 not have been removed or does it take a few days for equafx to remove it? also the other 2 are the same 1 but for slightly different amounts which i thought was strange is there any way i can get 1 of them removed?

Raise a dispute online. You will probably find that it will be removed by Monday anyway.

Im probably being really stupid but when i tried to do that i couldn't find the right link! I will wait till mon and hopefuly it will be off but if not i will try and find the right 1 for the dispute. thanks sutton

If you're saying you have 3 defaults for the same debt then get in touch with equifax asap and tell them to remove immediately and remind them of their obligations to process factual accurate data - how can 3 defaults for one debt be in compliance? It isn't and they will remove them all if you bring to their attention.... if they don't then you go direct to the company that added them and demand removal prior to enforcement order and give them 14 days.

To clarify you can only have one debt per default and vice versa so one default per lifecycle of debt.

By the way, don't hassle them too much cos they will fall off 6yrs from default date but sometimes they fall off 6yrs plus 1mth from default date. If you come across hurdles when you contact CRA then just wait, only a few months to go...

Its only 2 that are for the same debt, aktiv kapital have put it on wit[STRIKE]h 2 differen amounts which is what i thought was strange. I have emailed equifax asking them to remove the default which finished the other day and to remove 1 of the other defaults as they are blatently from the same debt.
