Mate halifax specialist lending is a nightmare, they seem to make decision on who you speak to so always be nice and if it a woman, phone flirt! LOL ;)
Good advise, i am good at flirting so if i ever have to speak to Halifax specialist lending, i would bear this in mind

Well that doesnt sound positive ;p

I would like the cards but if not then I will just have to wait untill next year. If I get turned down for these theres nothing I can do and would be no point applying untill my credit file is clear I suppose. But 12 months goes by pretty quick eh :)

Why don't you write and ask for the defaults to be removed? You got nothing to lose. Besides, defaults have no basis in statute or law to remain on credit files for as long as 6 years. It is simply a rule made up by bunch of fxxkers in the credit industry between the 200 lenders.

I am going to phone up tomorrow. Just an EGG and Tesco one to remove. What did you actually write in your first letter? I would have thought they wouldnt even bother to reply.
