1 hr 30 mins - 2 hrs at 180 degrees = lovely tasty spuds, now all you need is some melted blue cheese on them :)

Depends how big they are and whether you pr*ck them or not !!!!

We normally do them for about 1 hour 15 minutes for reasonable size one, olive oil and sea salt it first.

2 hours max for a big boy or it will be ruined... just stick a knife in at about the 1 hour 30 mark and if it goes in and out easy enough then its done.

    Bobs your uncle.

HappyChappy they take about an hour in the oven so a bit of a waste unless you can do loads at a time.

Yeah that's what I thought, gas isn't cheap these days! :(

What I do is shove them in the microwave until they are done, stick em on a fork and use my food blow torch to give them a quick blast and give them that oven cooked flavour!

I haven't got one of them, wonder if dads oxyacetylene kit is still in the shed? *boom*:j

Stop stop! You're confusing me now. (doesn't take much!):p

    Should they be pricked?

Unfortunately I do have an uncle called Bob, but lets not go there!

I'm loving this jacket potato thread!
  • I always buy monster spuds and never used to !!!!! mine, and have never had an exploding one yet. Although got told off by the other half when he found out I didn't, and so now have to stab them all to make him feel better.
