Depends how big they are and whether you pr*ck them or not !!!!
We normally do them for about 1 hour 15 minutes for reasonable size one, olive oil and sea salt it first.
2 hours max for a big boy or it will be ruined... just stick a knife in at about the 1 hour 30 mark and if it goes in and out easy enough then its done.

I always buy monster spuds and never used to !!!!! mine, and have never had an exploding one yet. Although got told off by the other half when he found out I didn't, and so now have to stab them all to make him feel better.0
