Tesco Kingston MK's
In the xmas confectionary aisle they have boxes of maltesers on offer, also boxes of Matchmakers - can't remember the deal but the SEL expiry date was 22/09/09!!! Spotted this morning whilst in store - they are notoriously bad for not changing SELs.
I think the matchmakers were £1.99/box or 2 for £3.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -
Hi!
Just a quick question regarding conflicting info on SELs. If the SEL on an item in store says £1 but the price on the display box says 50p, then am I withing my rights to get DTD if I'm charged £1?0 -

If the packaging of the product says 50p and SEL says £1, you can DtD if charged £1.
If there are several identical items in a large display box and large box says 50p and SEL says £1, then you have a good case for Dtd if charged £1.
If there is less than 5 identical items in a large display box and large box says 50p and SEL says £1, then you have a weak case for Dtd if charged £1, but most of us would give it a go!
If there is 1 item in a large display box and large box says 50p and SEL says £1, then you have a poor case for Dtd if charged £1.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

It's the fake blood for halloween that I was thinking of. There's several display boxes with 50p on the outside and dozens of packets of fake blood inside each and only one SEL with £1. They scanned at £1 when I tried one on the instore scanner. Might give it a go next time I'm in there and see if I can get DTD.0 -
There was a display with High School Musical & Winnie The Pooh Energizer Torches at the end an aisle near the batteries, with an SEL of £4.50 reduced from £5.99 saving £1.49, these were in a promotional stand and had HALF PRICE all over it in red.
Item scanned at £4.50 after queuing at CS and 3 staff checking the price I got DTD and was refunded £4.50.
I got my torch for free.:j:j
nb. this was at Tesco Homeplus at Crown Point, Denton.Born and bred in Manchester (proud of it)

I dont believe this..I havent done any Tesco DTD for ages, not since the refund and retain went kaput really. I dont really go Tesco that much now.
The other day i was overcharged on a BOGOF for quorn mince, i was charged for both, went back was handed the price of one pack and told the policy does not exist anymore, so I phoned customer services and they are sending me a gift card.
Tonight i went into a different store and was overcharged for a birds eye roast beef dinner on shelf at 2.00, charged 2.59 , noticed when i got to the door, was given the 59p, I queried DTD and was told because I had not left the store it did not apply (that old chestnut!) I replied that it did not matter as they had still overcharged me and they still took my money, manager came over and promptly refunded me with DTD after I told him that I know they will try anything to get out of it. WOW. I enjoyed that lol. I might go back to shopping at Tesco and back to my old ways lol. Lying gits.0 -
If any of you fancy it....
Was in Tesco this morning and there was lots of promo material saying "Introductory offer, 20% off all clothing" Then there was a picture of a boy in a Halloween costume, so it implied the material was referring to the new Halloween dressing up range in store.
But the wording said "20% off all clothing", nothing clearly stating it was 20% off the Halloween dressing up range. Worth a punt if you fancy spending at least 30 minutes in store while you argue your case and want to buy a fair few bits.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

The onus is not on the consumer to check the small print. If big promo posters say 20% off all clothing, then you wouldn't be too far over the line to presume there is 20% off all clothing. Should a Halloween picture mean it is only relevant to Halloween clothing? How is the consumer meant to know this? The wording is too obscure.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
