Tesco misprices and discussion thread 11

Yes, I got told in-store that kids could have moved or taken the price ticket and that "Tesco are the only company that give DTD" when they are wrong. I hadn't asked for DTD, I actually would have been happy just to get the items as what I should have paid for them. I've never had to go to CS in Asda, Sainsburys or M&S for being overcharged. Why is it always Tesco? And why do other stores not have a an issue with people moving price tags?
My only concern is that I've phoned CS recently about one of the stores I had an issue with at the weekend so I don't know if by phoning I'll be making a name for myself but at the same time, why should I be enticed to buy an item at a cheap price then be told that I am in the wrong?0 -
was heading to the pub last night for the weekly game of bingo. as i was nearing the pub door i saw tesco sales assistant standing outside slightly worse for wear. as i got near she said loudly that was a bargain you and your daughter got with they kettles.
got your dtd you jammy gits . [she had a wee gang round her lol] . i said politely yes we did and cs were very good about it .
she said she had to go to an IT briefing about the electrical prices .i asked her if she got into trouble for putting the items thro her till and she said no.
i told her i had been overcharged and it was my right to go to cs.
she murmmered something under her breath and i said do you have a problem with customers getting dtd if you do then talk about in shop hours not
when im out for a night out .she threw me daggers all night in the pub
i won the snowball game £508 and she stormed out dragging her wee man behind her lol0 -

What a sour faced !!!!!! You should complain about her to head office ha, that'll teach her. She obviously thinks it's alright to talk to customers like that if she isn't in her uniform.0 -
And well done for winning!0

It sounds like Tesco employees are taking after the new film "Rise of the Apes". Not that I am comparing them to animals, but they should not be confronting customers like that on the street.
Caz, I would call CS and tell them you were led into buying under Tesco's false pricing labels and say that you would be happy to contact Trading Standards or whoever it is that regulates these things.
If they are having such problems with "kids" in the stores, then they should employ someone to stop this happening.0 -
I have just got a Stone Bay Golf polo shirt with 2 golf balls & tees scanning at £3.00. It's in a black rimmed box with clear 'window' showing shirt etc. Origional price £15, reduced sticker £7.50. Bar code:5052319306088. Sorry can't do photo.
There are other similar ones in different packaging but they scan at £10. Hth0 -
If it reassures - I just had a DTD with no hairy ape like CS - she was lovely.
Kleenex Balsam 6 boxes. £7 SEL, £8 charged. £2 refunded immediately.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Just came across this by pure accident in Tesco Pitsea - my first find!
Simoniz car dashboard wipes strawberry. Sel half price from £3 to £1.50 but some are scanning at £3 still those with barcode ending in 291. So free with DTD. Those ending in 018 are scanning at the correct price HTH28/04/11 - A bad day for shoppers everywhere (Tesco shoppers that is!) RIP DTD :A0 -

Part of the reply was "We therefore, believe that another customer has maliciously put a label on the shelf which has caused you to believe the dinner sets were £11 each." The SEL was the same product description and code! Where would a customer get such a thing?
This is a very similar response which I heard a few years ago, but then I got accused of printing fake SELs, bringing them into store and replacing every single one from the xbox360 top 40 chart! when actually the promo had finished the day before and surprise surprise their slackness was to blame.
Unfortunately recently more people are choosing to phone/email head office everytime they get refused dtd in store, this will get noticed at head office and they will come up with rubbish like you got in that email.0 -
