Any sels that are wrong, even dated ones are Tescos fault and are eligible for dtd. :j:j:j:j:j
Take about dtd in the deep end! Is this Tescos new policy to deter dtd? Supervisor was very friendly. If we hadn't pushed further, would have been none the wiser.
Hope this helps someone...I myself, have been going crazy since yesterday.
Did you mention to the supervisor that other Tesco's staff seem to be unaware of this?I hate twitches, but I LOVE glitches!!!0 -
adammccance wrote: »I'm in complete agreement with thelurch on this one. What I like about this is the individual nature of it - you have to do the work, whether that be taking one section of the store (Toys, Household, Electricals, etc) and checking all yellow SELs or finding stuff by chance. The odds of a find posted on here being available in another store are remote (yet I know others found the phones) as this type of bargain-hunting is solely down to lazy/tired/otherwise distracted staff not changing labels.
Posting a list will do one of two things:
1) Nothing, as after DTD is claimed, the SEL is removed in the store in which it was found and as stated earlier is very unlikely to be on the shelf in another store.
2) Hand it on a plate (like penny items, etc) to non-contributers who will clear the shelves should they strike lucky and actually find it in their store. So, not only is it a remote possibility that you'd find a DTD item posted here but the chances of you getting it in your local are further reduced due to the label being removed as soon as the first person strikes.
Of course, a true cynic would say lists would hand it on a plate to Tesco who could immediately alter SELs. However, it takes time for that kind of thing to filter down to store level and I don't think a list would be much use to them due to the points made above, unless a list for an individual store was posted.
thelurch makes a great point which I feel the need to quote:
"Its easy enough to visit a store and quite easily work out whats expired etc without having to list all details on here for everyone to see. Pictures also help staff to find the product much easier."
I find doing the ground work is fun too, you soon get an awareness of whats due to finish on its offer usually sunday/mondays and tuesday/wednesdays. Although there are always a lot of offers that get extended and the staff leave the old SEL up, there are various ways of knowing what that item scans at without having to actually pay for something you dont want when it comes up at full price.
Having to regularly take items to CS for a normal refund will also get you noticed.0 -

Yes, I did, but I tried to say it in an un-obvious way, iykwim, so as not to attract attention. I said that I had heard a lot of misinformation myself and that I had spoken to quite a few tesco cs staff who had given the wrong information, yet family in L'ndon had told us they had had a successful dtd today. It is quite ridiculous that I should speak to a CS rep whose supervisor completely contradicts him a few seconds later.
I agree with Adam and thelurch, but I can also understand how frustrating it may be for other people that want bargains and don't have a scanner in store. This is why I was frustrated yesterday because my t has no scanner and I have been making an effort to try to understand how to find bargains without a scanner in store only to feel like I'd got the whole idea wrong yesterday. But, as usual, it was tesco who was wrong.
I want to give back to the community by finding a 1p item at least because these are usually more widespread and for reasons like near to bb date, so shoppers and tesco (kind of) benefit by clearing stock.
Have a good day, everyone!0 -
i'll feel anxious if i find any out date sels now that i wont get dtd, il still try it. I dont wanna get knoticed or try dtd again unless is a good dtd amount, that why i dont bother with glasses. Seams random that dtd is questionable on out of date sels and HO can be from what other have said very variable about giving it does it depends who you get on other end of phones
Saw no items in my store but will try it if come across one0 -

There is an option here, if you don't have a scanner in store and the funds to do it, but it probably has to be an item you REALLY want, not just because it's got a decent DTD rate: Buy the item, if it works, great, get your DTD; or buy the item, if it doesn't work, take it back for a refund next day/week. This would work better if you have access to more than one store.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -

Fantastic!
I agree how one CS, DM or even HO can get it so wrong with DTD. Why make the policy if you don't allow/follow the procedures correctly? It can be frustrating trying to explain that DTD does apply to anything you're over charged by. Hey ho, you win some, you lose some, BUT NEVER GIVE!I hate twitches, but I LOVE glitches!!!0 -
all right then, no list
I read all posts anyway
soo, I had a very busy day and visited 4 stores(took me 4,5 hours) and can consider it as mission completed today
i got 4 glasses(just for the sake of it really - nikkilala: yie****y removed stickers, but Yead**g has them now), 2 boxes of megablocks(I've found 4, took two and misplaced the other two with stickers so whoever is keen on them and the new Yie****y is their local pm me and I'll tell you where to find them
nikkilala? I got dtd but had to remind the lady about it and she got a bit grumpy but didn't argue with me LOL)
AND I got braun 3 series 340 shaver too :j :j :j thanks to the person who posted about the other shaver, I totally forgot about this section and never checked there... So today I've found a sel which expired on 30/06  and after asking for dtd they gave it to me so I paid 1p for the shaver
I left the store as quickly as I could and won't be going back for long time as I'm sure they noticed me...I scanned about 20 items there including a microwave :eek::eek: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
lots of toys with half price stickers scan at half price so just the megablocks are a good find for now...
I'll be back to some stores on the 18th as lots of sels expire the day before... I want a kettle/toaster or other things for my kitchen still mr t :rotfl:0 -

Just look at number 18 on the terms and conditions. It's up to a maximum of 100 litres too. hth
Thats fantastic, Thank you very muchly0 -
Just had a very disappointing trip to Tesco and ended up with 2 mugs I didn't want and nearly an airbed too! Both out of date SELs but scanned at the discounted price! How annoying! I have my eye on a few other SELs ending on the 17th though so might get lucky next time!
Trying hard...failing miserably
