Today's haul:
I chanced an out-of-date 3-for-2 offer today - 3 bulky reporter's notebooks at £3 each. The SEL was dated 05/07/11! They went through perfectly (for me, not for Tesco) so I went to CS and claimed £6 back. For a quid each, they're fantastic value. Barcode: 5060073929320
I also managed to find another out-of-date SEL, this time for a green Disney Cars truck thing. It's about 30cm in length and was security protected. The SEL was dated 15/07/11 and the advertised price was £6.47 half-price from £12.97. I got two, went through at the higher price, and was refunded DTD of £26 for both, making them free. Barcode: 027084716047
Total shop £44, received £32 back at CS.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -

Sorry, I have posted this on another thread, but really need some advice before I call HO again today....
Repost.....
Help! I am totally confused. I was a bit out my depth today in trying to get a dtd. Saw a webcam and mouse on the shelf with the yellow sel and an expired offer date of 12th. They scanned for the higher pre-offer price than the yellow reduced sel, so I bought them thinking that I would be able to get dtd. When I returned it to the electrical section the lady there said they could only refund jtd because the offer had expired. I thought that was kind of the point of dtd because I was charged higher than advertised, but she said it was because of human error and dtd doesn't apply to expired offers. Called HO and they confirmed.
Looked at some other sels and some are labelled RTC rather than an offer date, so I thought maybe I have got it completely wrong.

not a website or post on the first page but maybe someone posting all the finds together every 4-5 pages? So the "lurkers" actually don't have it all on a plate but the regulars can have an easy access to the recent finds? just an idea though...
especially with the phones it's hard to remember all the models... and also some stores get normal white sels for offers(probably error), like the one for the GR dinner set I've found... it wasn't an yellow expired sel just a normal white one and if it wasn't posted on here I had no idea it works!
I'd like to know what you folk think of it? :A
Also what is it with the store dtd atm? Anyone knows the OFFICIAL statement from HO? is it just the difference if sel expired?!
I would advise against having a list of all the recent finds which had out of date SEL's on here either every few pages or at the start of the thread. Sorry to harp back to the R&R days but this is exactly what happened on this thread, lists would get posted on here (obviously the lists were longer as you only had to be overcharged by a penny to get the item for free)
Soon Tesco got wind of this and copy and pasted the lists people were putting on here, sending it down to stores for them to just go round checking the findings on here and correcting straight away the ones the stores had missed. There were numerous reports on here of people seeing staff with a clipboard with a printout of all the common misprices on here. It just does tescos job for them.
Its easy enough to visit a store and quite easily work out whats expired etc without having to list all details on here for everyone to see. Pictures also help staff to find the product much easier.
As for the question about what HO current stance on out of date SEL's is, there seems to be no consistant stance, depends who you speak to. If I get a no instore, after speaking to manager, I personally dont bother phoning HO and making waves and raising my profile, I just put it down to experience, if they flatly refuse then take a normal refund and walk out.
It seems that more often than not, HO will back a store with out of dates, especially if the CS person recognises you from the last time etc, comes back to keeping a low profile.
Its surely better to avoid becoming known as a regular by getting noticed getting DTD on those horrible stripey glasses and such a low amount and save your "lives" at CS for the big one/s0 -

I'm in complete agreement with thelurch on this one. What I like about this is the individual nature of it - you have to do the work, whether that be taking one section of the store (Toys, Household, Electricals, etc) and checking all yellow SELs or finding stuff by chance. The odds of a find posted on here being available in another store are remote (yet I know others found the phones) as this type of bargain-hunting is solely down to lazy/tired/otherwise distracted staff not changing labels.
Posting a list will do one of two things:
1) Nothing, as after DTD is claimed, the SEL is removed in the store in which it was found and as stated earlier is very unlikely to be on the shelf in another store.
2) Hand it on a plate (like penny items, etc) to non-contributers who will clear the shelves should they strike lucky and actually find it in their store. So, not only is it a remote possibility that you'd find a DTD item posted here but the chances of you getting it in your local are further reduced due to the label being removed as soon as the first person strikes.
Of course, a true cynic would say lists would hand it on a plate to Tesco who could immediately alter SELs. However, it takes time for that kind of thing to filter down to store level and I don't think a list would be much use to them due to the points made above, unless a list for an individual store was posted.
thelurch makes a great point which I feel the need to quote:

So...called HO. Went through one SA, one store manager, one CS at HO yesterday and another CS at HO office today....all were adamant that dtd does not apply on expired sels. Asked to speak to a supervisor and she said....
Any sels that are wrong, even dated ones are Tescos fault and are eligible for dtd. :j:j:j:j:j
Take about dtd in the deep end! Is this Tescos new policy to deter dtd? Supervisor was very friendly. If we hadn't pushed further, would have been none the wiser.
Hope this helps someone...I myself, have been going crazy since yesterday.:eek:0
