One word of caution on this is that the label in question appears to be for a different TV from what the OP says (albeit covered up with an Out Of Stock).

If it was for the same model, then I'd agree with you, but you are giving the OP the impression that it should be a done deal for DtD, whereas I suspect they will have a bit more of a fight than you suggest, it all depends on what the label said - if it had a barcode, it will be difficult, but if it said "£80 off Sony TV" or something as vague, you can argue your case.

That said, nothing ventured and all that.....

Two further points to note, firstly, the sale was completed at the till, so don't let them tell you you don't "own" the TV.

Secondly, I'd ask for the TV first before asking for DtD. It's been known for staff to say the item is "out of stock" if you don't actually have it in your possession - then they will simply refund you (i.e. you buy an xbox 360 game by taking a dummy case to the till, then have to go to CS/Electricals to pick it up - in that situation, get the actual game in your hand, then query the price)

we did have the telly as we had to pick it up off a shelf where a large banner was hanging from ceiling saying £80 off thats why we put 2 and 2 together to match with on display taht had gone down by that amount.

we handed the telly back when we simply asked for refund when they would not honour the amount so they had the opportunity to refund only the 379 but they could not get their system to do it. thats why WE HAD handed the telly back AND DID NOT WANT TO TAKE IT INCASE THEY REFUSED TO REFUND IT TOMORROW.

I'd definitely take the tv home with me if they didn't refund my money...

if the SEL with the lower price was for the same model you should get 160GBP back into your account and take the tv home with you...

There's no need to shout :)

Tesco have a 28 day refund policy, so they wouldn't have refused to refund the money within that period.

But this complicates things for you regarding DtD. In all likelihood, HO and the store will say that you've settled the matter by (verbally) accepting a refund (regardless of whether it has actually happened as yet) and I think you'll be very lucky to get DtD and the TV, but as I said previously, nothing ventured......

A store policy should be upheld in all circumstances. Not just when a customer refuses to settle for less.

Sounds like the tv with the £299 label was a display model and you by your own admission put 2 and 2 together and picked up a different tv but wanting DTD you didn't stop the transaction going through the till but signed to accept the price of £379.

just a telly for 299 would have been enough this was a case of mispricing as tellys in diff place to display models or even a refund which as previously mentioned.

I grabbed a Tesco Finest meal deal today as me dear ma wanted a veggie lasagne and I couldn't bear paying £5 for that and not grabbing a side, cheeseboard and bottle of red for £5 too ;)

Anyway, I noticed that Tesco Finest Fiano was amongst the wine choices for the meal deal. This used to compare with Asda Finest Fiano on the Price Check back in DTD days. Back at the ranch I found out that it's currently £6.99 at Mr T and £5 at Mr A. I know they closed the Turners Price Check hole on the meal deal, but I wondered if they did it properly (i.e. don't compare on any meal deal items) or whether they just made Turners NA.

If someone gets a meal deal inc. Fiano, could you run your receipt through the price checker and see if it compares? If so it'll be a Finest Meal Deal for £8.01 instead of a tenner ;)
