Just returned from Mr T and bought 2 x school dresses & 1 pack of school t-shirts £2 x 3.50 1 x 3.00. Should be on 3 for 2 on all kidswear excl sale items. Just got home and checked my receipt and the free item hasn't been deducted.

Will I be ok if I go back today and claim my DTD ?

    Should be fine.

The offer is only on full priced children's clothing. If they have been reduced or are on another offer they will not be counted.

Pictureka large game cards SEL £1.75, charged £4.97.

Large box of Hasbro large game cards including Monopoly, Boggle, Pictureka, Cranium. Large SEL stating "Large Game Cards Asst 1 £1.75" in front of the big box of mixed cards.

CS offered to refund me the difference and refused to do DtD as "the SEL didn't refer to my cards and the right SEL was there for them". The right (small) SEL was hidden under the large SEL on top of it and the barcode on the large label was only for the Boggle cards. As the correct SEL was on the shelf (hidden from view, but present) the CS insisted DTD didn't apply as the information was there.

Rang HO at CS...she couldn't confirm or deny DtD as she wasnt there looking at the signage :wall:, so wanted the manager to take a look...whilst on hold waiting for her to contact the manager, she cut me off.

CS went off to find the manager, who agreed to the DtD.

Still can't believe that CS expected the customers to

    a) know that the SEL referred to only 1 of the 4 card games in the box with such a vague title on the label.

    b) lift up the large vague SEL to check there were no contradictory precise price labels to the large vague SEL hidden away.

20 minutes of my life wasted there, but DtD finally given. It ended up being all about the principle, even if I was 5 minutes late getting home.

I know this was over a week ago and forgive me if someone else posted this but the fact they offered to refund the difference in the first place when "the correct sel was there" should show they should be giving DTD, their options would be no refund (unless you were fully returning item) or DTD, not just the difference.
Just an example of them mking the rules as they go, as I work in retail Im fairly savvy with refund policies :)

    Update............

Just gone back into store and they advised that schoolwear isn't included. It mentions nothing on the signage about schoolwear being excluded, nothing on the internet. I have just checked yesterdays paper with the promotion in it and it excludes nightwear, hoseiry, socks & shoes, elsewhere on the advert it does say selected lines only.
My local store reluctantly gave me my refund but no DTD, she said it was not an overcharge.
Have just rang CS and as the advert states that it is selected lines only that covers them.

3 for 2 definately works on schoolwear on-line.

Just back from my local Tesco, where amongst other things I bought three packs of oyster & shittake mushrooms, all with prices marked down. I went through the self-service scanning aisle as I always do. Ten minutes later, having left the store, I noticed that for two of the packs, instead of being charged 35p and 40p, I was charged 99p and £1.35. Back to Tesco, where at the Customer Services desk, there was no quibble about the fact the price reductions should have been applied, but after checking, that Tesco DO NOT do Double the Difference refund if you have gone through a self-service checkout.

Luckily their copy of "Our Promise" was directly behind where I was being served, so was able to point out that DtD applied to prices marked wrongly both on the shelf AND on the product (they tried to tell me that it was only wrongly marked on the shelf that counted), and that there was no qualification or small print on the promise to the effect that Self-Service was excluded. I pointed out that at a single refund rate they were refunding me what I was legally entitled to, but that I was also legally entitled to be compensated for my petrol in returning to the store. I asked for a supervisor, who when he came had clearly not heard about the Self-Service exclusion, but quickly agreed to refund at double the rate.

The amount in question was only £1.69, but what really annoyed me was the clear implication made by Tesco that those using Self-Service are not to be trusted. Which is considering how they are trying to move us onto self-service as much as possible, is a bizarre way of treating your customers.

Now before anyone shoots me down, I know there is another fairy thread - will post on there in a bit.

I was in my local extra looking for the bargain fairy on the other thread and picked up the following :-

    1 x silk & orchid 433ml (purplish coloured bottle, bar code 5 413149 945555)
    1 x almond 433ml (creamy white coloured bottle, bar code5 413149 945364)
    1 x peach & manderin 433ml (orange coloured bottle, bar code 5 413149 945425)
    1 x aloe vera & cucumber 433ml (green bottle, bar code 5 413149 945456

They are on offer 2 for £2 or £1.53 each, the discount never came off, so DTD £2.12 back which I thought was free but as someone else pointed out it brings it down to 47p per bottle which is still good for fairy not free as I originally thought.

Lady at customer service thought you may need to buy two the same but checked and the discount never came off with two the same.

if you paid £3.06 and got £2.12 back how can they be free, sorry but i calculate that you paid 94p for 2 or 47p for one which is what they cost us in the other glitch anyway???

I've never heard that before! How did you find that out?

    Hi

thanks for this thread guys. I have just discovered the thread and the double the difference return on mispriced items. I bought a couple of bottles of shampoo that were heavily reduced on the sel but scanned at full price. I was just chuffed to bits that they let me have it for the discounted price. I pointed this out to them once the product had scanned, but i had not paid yet. Does this make a difference? Or does the dtd apply if you have paid and left the store?

I was over charged by £1.06 per two bottles purchased. 2 x £1.53 = £3.06, there was a shelf edge offer yellow sticker of 2 for £2 so DTD return of £2.12 = free washing up liquid and 12p profit.

Hope this explains it better. Actually the more I think about it, I think you are actually right sorry people for the confusion - here was me thinking I was getting a different bargain.
