I tried this yesterday - found the 1kg on a shelf with £3 on it, unfortunately no SEL. Tried to get the young girl at CS but unfortunately ended up with the more experienced one. She was willing to let me have it for £3 but I could not get DTD as no SEL (I've tried persuading this CS before!and have run into this problem before!), I just said could I have a refund on it then please cos I thought it was too much of an impulse buy and I could spend the money on other things I needed! Not buying it if they are not willing to pay me to do so!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have become quite the tightwad since I have been using this site - before I would have been delighted to get that for £3, even if I am stocked up on enough 25p colour tablets to last me a couple of years!

You were had! The customer charter board quite clearly states 'if you were charged more than the price on the shelf OR THE PRODUCT'. Go back ask for customer services manager, get her to read the board and then tell her to train her staff.

Believe me, I know this, and the CSA almost certainly knows it, but she would not budge without the SEL. Unfortunately it was a Saturday and I hate finding these on a Saturday cos my normal CSA is not there - she knows I know etc etc. I have spent half an hour trying to persuade this CSA before now, including involving the CS Manager and the Store Manager (who unfortunately seem to side with their staff!).

That said, I will be re-checking the shelf on Thursday and may have another go if the boxes are back there.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Ah you had a jobsworth, shame they aren't as good at pricing goods correctly, eh. This policy is supposed to create good PR for Tesco yet the staff undo this with their poor attitude.

Quick question. Have Tesco stopped giving green points for re-used bags? The last twice I've not been 'credited' with my re-used bags but didn't realise until I'd got home. CBA chasing a few points but is this now policy?

Nope, was til trained a couple of weeks ago and green points were explained; you probably just had a forgetful / careless operator both times.

I never get green points anymore! Nor do I ever get the till splits, although my friend who spends the same amount maybe a little less and has roughly the same points, gets them all the time, and it's always money off food shop, whereas mine if i do get any is always something of no use whatsoever to me, like 4 vouchers all the same for money off camping stuff!
Think I will try adding my comments to that customers service link....

in my tesco you have to make sure they add them or else they forget, it annoys me now that you nly get 1 point per bag used to be much better when you got 2 or 3 per bag
have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

    Hi

My first DTD discovery today was a Vivanco HDMI 3-Way Auto Splitter which had a yellow SEL of £17.00 (showing as discontinued on Tesco site, but still odd ones knocking about in store).

Went through at full price of £40.84, so an overcharge of £23.84. They paid me £6.84 to take it away. :rotfl:Is that about right?

She removed the yellow SEL, so no repeat performances. :(

However, our total spend still seemed a bit high, so we checked through everything on the receipt when we got in the car and it turned out that the dippy cashier had actually scanned the same item TWICE.

So we went back in and asked CS to check the receipt and got a further £81.68 back.

    Result!

Not being sure how DTD works, I did question the CS as to whether I should get a refund of the double scan + the DTD, but she said it's worked out on their display for them (so no CS errors). :D

Ended up getting £75ish shopping for around £10 (if I worked it out correctly).

Total: £139.54 (what they actually charged)
Actual: £74.86 (what they should've charged)
    Refund: £129.36 (£47.68 DTD + £81.68 Double Multi Scan)
    Total: £10.18 (after refunds)
