I think it will be called 'fraud'...Have you got something to share - Do it.
When you don't know - Ask.0 -
Suspect you'd have to give the found phone back to the insurers. Wouldn't call it fraud! What would you do if you couldn't find your phone....just look for it for a few days when potentially someone could be giving you a rather large bill?
I'd speak to voda and ask them what they would like you to do. However, I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be able to tell you for sure.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

You seem to view it as a 'Problem' - its only a problem if you have 'impure' intentions

I would let them know, and leave the ball in their court...0 -
Don't even think of unblocking it. The phone belongs to the insurers now, so speak to them and the network.0

i would speak to vodafone and ask the if you can use the replacement handset. Guess they will just ask you to keep the old phone, until they sort it out with the insurer. Most of the times you are talking about a few months. Until then your old phone is only a piece of junk, as it would have been barred by the network0

If you have an insurance relacement then its the insureres. Let them know.
Chances are the IMEI is now barred by Voda and other networks so unlocking it will be of no use. "Unblocking" by way of IMEI change is illegal.0 -
You could sell the lost/stolen phone on eBay as someone will send it to Africa, etc. where it will still work. You would be risking a fraud conviction if you got caught out though.
Technically, the recovered phone should be sent to your insurance company - or notify them that it has been recovered and it is available for them to collect.0 -
Col,
If the insurance covered it, you probably paid an "excess" fee for the new phone, rest covered by the insurance obviously.
If the excess is substantial, or even it isn't, tell Vodafone. If anything, you may get your excess fee back on the new phone.
Same thing happened to me. I was sent a new phone by Voda but later found my old phone. Voda asked me to take the new phone back to any Vodafone store, and refunded me the excess which was £30.0 -
The insurance was not with Vodaphone it came with my bank card, i had to pay a £ 30 ex. My phone was/is K700i. i have put a spare sim in and it works ok.

maybe it works, but as the Police and the network are in theory looking for the person that stole it, and can now trace where it was recently, you really must tell them now that you've found it, and ask for instructions0
