The Ultimate Boot CD is absolutely excellent0

Acronis True Image for me is the best, it's excellent for various types of backups and excellent for imaging. Pretty cheap too, but not free, there are some other freebie applications, including a free version of Acronis for Seagate and Maxtor drives, I think it's available from Seagate's website...
but its not compatible with vista..It crashed my system the other day.You can't keep a good man down...0 -
It is (v10 onwards, or V5 maxblast).0

As everyone above has said, this isn't correct - all the new versions are fully compat. with Vista What version are you using and have you run the latest updater from Acronis (you should always ensure you are running the most up-to-date patches)?0 -

What version of Acronis are you using?
System requirements listed here: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/requirements.html0 -
I am dual booting with xp and win2K on separate drives. I want to clone each drive so that I can do a straight swap of either one should they fail. Will Acronis be able to copy them so that I can do this?0

The partition stuff, (particularly GParted), on UBDC doesn't CARE what the operating systems on the drive are because you boot from the UBCD and not the operating system you have installed. It's nearly always the easiest method of achieving this sort of thing regardless of what operating system you use and which version... and by some distance.
