What type of company was it, and what was your position, can't make a judgement on your "enthusiasm or comittment to the company" as we do not know what you did,
was it a sales position, did you interact/or not with your collegues?
I was employed directly by the company.
It was a distribution company, I "helped" in logistics. I was not agency staff, although the job was found through an agency. In debt no more!0 -
I hope that you get a result from consulting ACAS. You cannot be expected to do a job if you are not given any perameters to work within.
Did you have any qualifications or previous experience that gave 'the boss' expectations of your performance?
Any employee needs adequate induction. training and supervision to carry out the duties demanded of the job.
Best wishes while you are going through this depressing time. You are worthy of better bh'You can't change the past, you can only change the future' Gary Boulet.

I'm sorry Lou. I know exactly how you feel....I lost my job last week too. Again, in a situation where I didn't really do anything wrong, but couldn't prove my innocence

But don't let it get you down, there's plenty of work out there, I already have a new job, which is paying more money than my last

Thanks for all the kind words again....
As to your question beverley hills. I was new to this field and the position was new too. The first two weeks I just sat on my butt (and I really mean I did nowt!). I got training on the basic stuff I was meant to do but c'mon in any new job isn't the boss meant to make sure you are busy all day?!?!?!In debt no more!0 -
Did you ask for work to do? you'll need to be able to argue that you were proactive but that the company failed you, otherwise they might argue that it was your fault.
Not saying it was, just something to think about before they spring it on you (have been in a similar situation you see...) DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I know how it feels loubie_lou...I just quit my job recently because I was forced to....I had the choice of staying but get bullied for the rest of my life, so I decided to pack my bags and go as i am not putting up with bullying anymore...None of my managers are doing anything about it....Hopefully, we'll all get a nice job again in the near future...Good luck!Sealed Pot Challenge 2012 #1502:)

Hi Skint Chick. I was proactive on a few occasions. I did ask for work to do but on many occasions he did say there was not a lot else he could give me. He sent me an email one day saying i'm sorry today will be a bit quiet!
He even called me up to his office one friday and said "i'm sorry louise the next xouple of weeks are going to be a bit quiet for you" and he wasn't half kidding!

hi, you could sign up with a few employment agency's to get temporary work until you find a new job, i did this when i was out of work, i worked for a few different companies, and found a job i really liked and when a permanent job came up with them i applied for it, and got it because they knew me from working for them through the agency. It worked out really well, its worth a try! i found the job centre a bit rubbish for finding good jobs.loubie_lou wrote:Yep the title says it all!
I lost my job on Friday and I'm absolutely livid!
I don't really want to go into any particulars but lets just say it wasn't the right way for them to go about it!!
This is basically a big bl**dy rant. I was well on my way to paying a huge chunk of my debt off this year but nooooo that is very unlikely to happen now. I doubt I'll get another well paid job this year! I can't believe it!!!! Why do all the bad things happen to good people who try so hard???
Sorry about the moan if you want to have a rant with me then go for it.....tis not fair
