Really pleased that you hit your savings target EH - very good work on your part! I have to say that reading all about your targets and how you deal with them is quite a motivator - I keep thinking once I'm debt free I can do that:DDealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Well the Turkey lesson, was a good one. This morning noticed a bin bag had gone, I think the local foxes had found the turkey. So really I was supporting local wildlife, nope I can't get away with that excuse.:p
No, afraid you can't get away with that one!
As for the target, the 6k was just a number I came up with really - that I felt would stretch me a bit. The original target was to pay off the loan I had for my current car - it was taken out in november 2007 and was due to run for 30 months, I paid it off in 13 instead. The next target was to get enough money saved that when I came to change the car next, it could be paid for in cash, but things keep getting in the way - like the car we bought for MrEH (the Citroen in my signature) and the major works they are now in the middle of doing on the flats which is going to cost somewhere in the region of 7k! So, apart from the make-up-a-month challenge, I'm not too sure where I am with challenges right now!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

In spite of managing to forget to set the alarm and oversleeping this monring, we've managed to have quite a productive day - dashed round getting ready having overslept by an hour and 10 minutes  and went straight to the Post office to get the eBay stuff away. Back in the car and up the motorway to park at OH's office in East London and up to the farmers market at Borough which was excellent as usual - we got quite a few goodies including the
I'm pleased to say! Lunch in a pub near Liverpool street (and the opportunity to test out my iPod's wifi capability!) and then back via the bit of London we used to live in and a walk up the market there - lovely to see all the chaps on the stalls - they all remember us bless them in spite of us having moved away 6 years ago! We managed to get the final few christmas presents we needed as well so we don't have to do battle with the parking in town tomorrow now! :j

That'll be the plan for tomorrow I think Taxi - not a lot more taxing than maybe a walk over in the woods tomorrow morning if this snow keeps up and it looks all crisp and pretty!

sounds like you had a good day yesterday, wish i could enjoy my visits to London as much as you do, but i just can't.
once we're debt free we are going to have a savings aim, i'd like 3 months combined salary for OH and myself, plus by then i'll have to start thinking of a new car for myself as i surely do put a lot of mileage on mine.0 -
Sounds great EH and it also sounds like a lovely little community as well.. Only one word will suffice now..

Hope you enjoyed your walk...
Still fed up but that's life I guess..lol0 -
Walk was great cheers Taxi - it's tough to beat a walk through the snow really! Came home and had a glass of whisky each to warm up!
Last day on BB was yesterday - I logged on to find £10 winnings though which brings the total to £63.77 profit. Hurrah for free money! On to the next one now I guess....!
Done my meal plan for the next few days - annoyingly I can;t find the grocery receipt from the Tesco shop yesterday - I know it came to £15-odd but some of that was food to take over to Mums for christmas day. Think I'll just count it all on the grocery budget and work it out properly later if I find the receipt.
Still got some cooking to do towards christmas - bread sauce, rum sauce and a few other bits. Those will get done over the next few days. Presents are mostly wrapped now - just a few odds and ends to do still plus some bits to wrap for my friend who I won't see until after christmas anyway.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Another little bit transferred over to the challenge account today. Final £10 from BB will hopefully be into my account tomorrow and can then also be transferred over.
MrEH gets paid tomorrow although we are trying to pretend that he hasn't until next week.He should also hopefully get his attendance bonus for 100% attendance through the year - most of which he has told me that he will put into the challenge fund, and we are hoping that they do the same as they did last year as a christmas bonus - that being a £50 M&S giftcard for selected members of staff......if they do he has said we can have an M&S splurge shop with some of that so I can see a couple of dine in for £10 deals coming our way!
Bread sauce is now made ready for friday and is cooling in the kitchen as I type. Must look for a decent rum sauce recipe to have with the christmas pudding ice cream we are making for pudding after xmas dinner. The iPod is coming in extremely useful for keeping track of stuff I've got to do - the "lists" app could have been made for me! I shall be using it next year to keep track of christmas presents for people as I get them.
Still lots of snow and ice about here - the last roundabout I go round on my way home was lethal tonight - I drove on OK but then as I did the right turn round it the car just went sideways...I stopped and rang OH as soon as I could to warn him but in spite of his best efforts the same thing happened to him! There has been a water main burst up the way too so that will be interesting by the morning - we currently have freezing fog too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
