  • I hardly have any presents to wrap this year :( As everyone gets older they just want dosh..spoils it a bit really. I won't be doing all dosh though and have been on Zavvi and whatnot getting best possible deals.

  • You can come here and wrap mine for me if you want Bob! :D

British Gas are going to get the rough edge of my tongue tomorrow as they don't appear to have processed the refund. Not impressed.

I am, however, impressed with the eBay sales. 16 items sold - I have relisted all those which didn't and had a few still to run two of which won't sell and will need a relist. One item which I expected to fetch about £3 - 4 went for £11.39! :D:eek: The flashgun proceeds will need to be separated out to go towards its replacement - I reckon I'm about half way there thanks to the sale of that. 6 items have been paid for already and will get mailed tomorrow.

The new 0% card arrived tonight. :D But now no-one has the iPod Touch refurbished version available. Not fair! I may just give in and buy the brand new one instead. There is, at the end of the day, £30 difference in price but I don't think I have the patience to wait! :o It will be paid off gradually over the 9 months interest free anyway.

Is anyone else having problems with quidco tracking since they've released their new site design? I've had a few daily clicks not register, and also a couple of proper purchases which is rather annoying.

I tend to use TCB now as they are more reliable for me lately.
I take it you've looked on the apple site for the refurb? I got DD's ipod from there last year and I can't fault it. Their stock changed daily so had to keep watching it to get the colour I wanted.

Ah the ipod Touch, my loved one has one and thinks its brill. has put loads of sci-fi stuff on there.
i resisted getting the Halfords cheapie pool table for £30, sadly no room to put it anywhere. ah well makes it a bargain for someone else.

Well done on the ebay sales!! Give BG a call and complain again. You could also contact your bank for a DD indemnity claim- where your bank recall the money. It should be free to do and probably easier and quicker than waiting for the refund to be processed!!

    Worth a try maybe? x
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

  • I've been bad, very bad. I've also been quite good though....

BAD:I bought the iPod Touch I've been lusting after. And, rather than buying it online, through Quidco, and waiting for the Apple Store to have a refurb in, I went to Curry's this afternoon and bought a new one there for full price instead. :o Oh, the shame.....! On the flip side, it has gone on the new 0% card as planned, and it came with a £15 iTunes voucher so that will save me money on apps and music.
GOOD: Instead of the takeaway Pizza tonight we decided to go to Tesco and get stuff from there instead. So, 3 frozen pizzas for £4 (two eaten and one in the freezer for another time) a double pack of garlic bread (1 eaten - 1 frozen) and a tub of Ben & Jerry's Baked Alaska Ice Cream (half price) - total spend £7.68 which is probably half what the takeaway would have cost, and we have some stuff for another night too. :D We're going to put £5 each into the challenge savings account as we've made the saving. The odd thing was I had a really good feeling as I was going round picking up the bits, and I can honestly say it was just as nice as the takeaway would have been!

Other stuff today - finally got the last couple of bits for MrEH's "Years supply of" box so that is now wrapped up. :D Grocery shopping this morning came in a little over what I would have wanted, but I found out last night that Tesco have started their half price fresh salmon offer they do every year at this time so I bought one of those. That's all been portioned up and gone in the freezer. The meal plan for next week is done and some beans are in soak for a sausage and bean casserole for Monday. I took the card and gave it a wash earlier on - it was truly filthy and it's so cold now that frankly I felt paying for the jetwash was plenty worthwhile. Went to Sainsbugs earlier on as well for eggs - got a small christmas present for someone in there too and effectively got the eggs for free as I had nectar points to use.

The plan for tomorrow is the christmas tree! Salmon and roast potatoes for lunch, and over to Mum and Dad's in the evening.

I did ring BG again earlier - ended up speaking to a supervisor as it turned out that the chap I'd spoken with on Monday evening had not only failed to process the refund, he had also cancelled the DD and failed to set up the new one. He's also in quite a bit of trouble as he failed to leave a "footprint" on the file - apparently they are all meant to do this if they do anything on a customer's account. Let's hope the Supervisor is as good as his word. He certainly knew when he was beaten! :D I've stuck with the refund because I've got £275 credit in there at the moment which is more than I need to take me through to the next bill in March.

The iPod touch is hours of fun and you did save the dosh with the takeaway. That's great. Otherwise we can find ourselves having to make use of "deals" which we don't need or can do cheaper or better.
We had home made chilli and for first time in ages done a double batch, so there's 9 of the little ones in the freezer. So that's all good. But totally blew the budget on an early xmas turkey at M&S. I am embarrassed but it will last for at least 2 meals! :o

Sarnies this week for work are essential!

If no joy with BG have you thought of involving the ombudsman? Even asking about this can be a useful lever. And /or also FSA with regards to financial d/d things.
