EH, been reading through some of your latest posts and am soo impressed with your savings efforts!!
keep it up, i am trying to emulate you (in the best possible way) by setting up a high rate isa and moving the odd pennies from my account each day, so when a payment goes out, if its not to the pound, i remove the 93p to the savings
.
Will keep reading your thread for inspiration; hope you dont mind too muchFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Keep reading! Keep reading!! Glad to know I'm helping a bit too.
That's a good idea with the transfer of the odd pennies too - amazing how stuff like that adds up.mineallmine wrote: »EH you've triggered me to do a storecupboard check/inventory. Good thing to do just before Christmas when the cupboards can be overstuffed with extra bits. I will do this and will tell myself I can't post on here again til its done!

Good plan - I know I've got LOTS of stuff in at the moment so as long as I meal plan carefully I should be able to do quite a bit of "using up" of stuff. You mean that this isn't exciting? I was looking forward to updating my spreadsheet this morning until you said that...:rotfl:

I know exactly what you mean! As I would guess do 90% of the folk on the DFW boards - it does give you a buzz doesn't it shifting money about to make the best of it and working out where you can earn or save a few pennies here and a few pennies there. I named my new savings account tonight :j welcome to the portfolio the cunningly named "challenge account"
! Honestly, my imagination knows no bounds!:rotfl:
First money has been transferred into that account tonight as well. :j Nice to see some movement on that front but I was to see more now I've started it!
Got another book for OH for christmas from Bangzo today and also an additional copy for my Great Aunt's gentleman friend who will be spending christmas day with the family. Christmas shopping day with my Mum tomorrow - will hopefully get the last of OH's stuff as well as something for my Dad sorted out then.
Hope those who've been poorly are starting to feel better - I'm still coughing and spluttering but thankfully other than that I seem to have it licked!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've never looked at this naming of savings accounts lark - it sounds quite fun! When I got this laptop, I did name it - I called it The Millionaire! Hasn't quite turned out that way, but I'm still hoping
I'm one of the well and truly lurgified - good to hear you've got it licked, EH.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Urgh to your lurgy KC - wrap up well and look after yourself. xx
Computers always get named - it's been a tradition here ever since windows has started prompting you to name the thing when you run setup! Always human names as well - we figure it pays to make them feel part of the family! :rotfl: The bank account names are fairly boring and descriptive I'm afraid though, although it did occur to me that I could name this current one "You've gotta be kidding, right?!"
Off christmas shopping with Mum today which should be fun - we'll head to Burger King for a fairly cheap but thoroughly naughty lunch - it's the one day a year that either of us get the chance to sneak in there as neither MrEH nor Mr Elliebee like that sort of food at all. MrEH used to be happy enough to eat KFC but then we saw the Hugh Furry-Wotsit "Chicken out" campaign programmes and neither of us have been able to face it since!I've got my final two holiday days of the year today and Monday - I love being off when everyone else is working - makes mne feel like I'm playing hooky!
Nothing on BB today by the look of it. GL to the rest of you!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Enjoy your day out! I go to places like KFC occasionally for the chips, I really like them (long time veggie, boring boring).
