Hi all!
In July I started blogging and the first thing I did was to sign up to the Today.com website. I am writing a blog which is more of personal experiences. At first it was a good idea, but now I'm far less motivated to keep typing away to expand the blog.
I'm in the early stages of my blog and have created about 6-7 posts. I think I should have never jumped the gun and started blogging without any knowledge or insight in what is required. With this is mind I have made a mistake, although I feel I'm learning as I go along.
My traffic is currently on 46 unique visitors for August. I did target 50 visitors at the start of August, so I guess I have not done too bad. Traffic has dwindled and I consider 2 unique visitors to be good (haha!) in any one day. I know though that to make any money at all I need this to rise far far far far beyond this.
For now, I have decided not to worry about traffic levels. I will build up the number of posts in an effort to try to give my blog some substance. Once this has been done I will focus on the display and then finally look at marketing etc.
As the OP says marketing is key. You won't get £100 cash monthly if you don't spread your links etc. It takes a lot of effort and a lot of time.
I will look into Blogger though if I can use affiliate links, but have not looked much into this. Today.com will only allow their own affiliate links:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:D:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:jMe and the gang!!!0 -
Nowadays blogging can be a source of passive income streams. You can earn residual income while blogging down your advocacies. You can invite ad posts into your blog-site. Each ad is equivalent to cash depending on size. By doing this, you are just guaranteeing a monthly income of up to thousand dollars.0

I have a blog that I have been working on since about May time. I think I get between about 20 and 40 unique visitors a day but I don't make much money from it.
The google ads are quite low paid and blogger doesn't let you post affiliate ads into the actual post (as far as I know).
I did recently get contacted by an advertiser who wanted to advertise on my site and wanted to pay me £100 for a full years worth of ads but I declined this as I didn't really think the ad was relevant to my blog....
I enjoy blogging but I don't think I'll ever make a fortune from it
P.S. The link is in my home page if you want to have a look at my blog.0 -

Personally if it had been me I would have taken his money as long as the add wasnt !!!!!! or something highly imoral. Even if you dont think its relevant think of the fact you are getting £100 pounds for it!!!When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
Can anyone recommend any blogging forums?“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I would recommend Google's blogger.com, (which becomes blogspot). Easiest to use blog imo.0

Sorry, I was meaning forums, as in message boards.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
