Amandaf says that it has taken 3 years of hard work to earn £150 - £180 per month!!
Am I missing something? That equates to £2.50 - £3.00 per hour assuming you spend 2 hours a day blogging! Better off staying in bed and make that same money by saving on heat and light.
Sell tangibles - when I needed some money a few years ago I made £60.00 to £100.00 per day selling hairdressers scissors direct to salons (£20.00 profit per pair of scissors!!)
The trouble with the internet is that all the usual business sense seems to go out of the window - I couldn't be flaffed messing around with such paltry sums.
If Amandaf is happy with that then that is all that matters really. Some people make £1 or so a day or you can make over £100 a day, every day. It depends on the niche, the methods of monetizing, good content, SEO and link building. It does take a lot of work and effort but if you believe in what you are doing then it will pay off.
The difference with selling scissors is a soon as you stop - nothing, zero profit.
However, if anyone believes they can put a blog together as a get rich quick scheme then they are foolish.0 -
I have just started blogging. I was going to suggest a thread to go on each others blog, and click their ads to increase traffic and Adsense revenueHow much has everyone been earning from their advertising revenue? Does anyone want to set up some sort of traffic exchange? I'll click your ads if you click mine?
This is strictly against Adsense T&Cs and you will get banned and lose your account.
How would you feel as an advertiser to pay for each of those clicks if you know there was zero chance of getting any business? It's fraud.0 -

hehehe I missed that one. Yep fraud it is. I expect Google will discover this thread anyhow. I fail to see why anyone would want to take such shortcuts rather than do it for real?? The system is there in place to make money, you just have to research and do the right thing.- and people will naturally find the site.0 -
I started up a blog too which I have received a sum total of $50 since April (although I have spent hours upon hours upon hours trying to market it!). I'm now setting up a themed website and generating a few related blogs so I can adsense and affiliate them all up and hopefully, by making small amounts accross lots of places I will start to generate a decent income. My current blog about natural health revitalisation is on my homepage in my profile if anyone wants a gander.
I stand by the recurring theme that it is very hard work. My site is an info site and is taking many hours to pull together. The blogs supporting it require a lot of effort to get enough posts on to make them readable and viable, but since i'm newly unemployed, this is how I shall be spending my time.
It's actually great to see a thread on this!I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -

I was chatting last week to a friend who has ust come back from the USA after working their for 6 years, he pointed me towards the possibilities of blogging for profit, as he says its very big in the IT world in the USA at the moment.
All he does is blog / place links to all the places he has visited online each day - and includes a brief description about each link - and then uses google links (adwords or wht ever google is calling itself today) to make his money!
I am looking into the possibilites of having a go! so wish me luck!0 -
Hi,
Many people worldwide has opted blogging as their career and solely depend on it to generate sufficient money for their family and themselves. Blogging for profit is not only beneficial, but also very useful in making yourself popularize. If you write blogs to the point which are informative, then it can help you to become more famous and earn extra bit of money by doing so.0 -
Looks like this has been a topic before then, but I posted some tips on web based affiliate marketing last week - the thread is here.0
