Blogging for a second income - does anyone else here do this?

Hi all..
I've just started my first blogs on Blogger, and am thinking the same as most others who have probably started, how to get more people to follow my blogs???
My suggestion is that all MSE-rs maybe visit each others blogs to help raise those income levels.
As I said, I've only just started, and would love to have people visit, and comment, on my blogs, and would definetly return the favour.
Please feel free to PM me, and I will give you details of my blog-sites, and please feel free to give me your details, and I will visit yours!
What does everyone think?
Does anyone know the easiest way to link your blogs together?
I have so far written blogs on Big Brother, Maldives holidays, Football, and Airshows (I have only been doing this for a couple of days!).

My suggestion is that all MSE-rs maybe visit each others blogs, and dare I say it, but click through the adverts on each others blogs to help raise those income levels.
That would be click fraud and likely to get you banned from adsense - permanently.
Definitely not recommended."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

I agree with the idea of a Blogging thread where we can post the names of our blogs and any hints and tips that we can share.
Does anyone else want to do this?

That would only be ok if you had an ad free blog which you didnt make any money from would it not. If you did not this would surely apply.

I'm quite interested in this thread because I've been blogging for over a year now. I use Wordpress.com which is a free host but doesn't allow any advertising - but I have managed to write a few articles for print magazines as a direct result of the blog.
Of course, I know this thread is about income and it has been additional and completely unexpected income but it has also been a rich endeavour for lots of other reasons to. It's hard to explain quite how it happens until it suddenly clicks.
I post most weekdays and was worried initially I'd never find enough to write about but now it feels strange when I don't post.
I started by writing a good few posts before I 'went public'. I visited a lot of blogs in similar subject areas and left comments all over the place.
I'd be happy to join a thread of discussion for others you have or want to share in the spirit of blogging! I have pondered with a few other ideas that might be more lucrative than my 'main' blog but I would need a lot more time than I have to devote to it.
I think there's definitely potential money to be made if good quality material and a bit of a work is done. It isn't always easy though.0 -

I was looking at doing something like this a while back, but dont really get the time at the moment, but what are the rules regarding paying tax on income made from advertising and commission?0

...same as the rules on any other taxable income?0

I started my blog in May and got 60 unique visitors, this month it has more than doubled! I haven't looked into using it to make money as its not really aimed at one subject other than, housework, money saving and growing up! I'm thinking I might wait another few months and see how things pick up before I look into things like adsense and stuff.
I've actually set myself up on an external hosting company and bought my domian name so all in all it probably costs around £30 a year to run but as most bloggers say "its cheaper than therapy!"
I've contacted companies like Lakeland (who i shop with quite often) about advertising for them and they passed me the e-mail of their affiliate scheme person, who I emailed but as of yet has failed to respond :mad:0
