Write content that people want to link to. To get the traffic needed many bloggers advocate pandering to the search engines by targeting search queries using the Google AdWords Keyword Research Tool (sign in first).
I sometimes do that if I'm already writing an article on a particular topic because structuring the post title consistent with popular searches will give you a boost.
On the other hand, you can write good catchy titles that solicit a click through, engagement, (social, sharing, linking), reputation etc.0 -
I have been a lifedstyle and beauty for nearly 3 years now and I use wordpress with lots of great plugins and pay yearly. My main source of traffic is from twitter and I hold regular givesways, I do product reviews non paid, Google has also cracked down on no-follow links so sponsored links arr dying out due to google not liking companies gaining a high rank. I haven't paid anything from links from affilete sites just a little bit from advertising. I know alot about SEO and my blog weekly 'm hoping when I graduate that I can still have time to run my blog and earn abit more from it due to the costs I have to pay out.0

Not necessarily, if the backlinks are from !!!!!! websites, that could make more harm than good to your site.
It's waaaaay better to have 10 backlinks from good sites with a decent PageRank (lets say PageRank 3+), than 500 backlinks from !!!!!! sites.
With that said, quality over quantity.
Cheers. :beer:0 -
Iirc it's also better to have links from sites with a related subject matter?0

How are you guys getting on? Google dropped one of my sites, but I sorted it and revenue is back up. The last google payment I got for February was £754! Bit lower than normal, but that was due to google dropping the site.
Any one need any tips I'm only a PM away0 -

I've recently switched CMS from Blogger to WordPress (self-hosted) and I can't believe how much back-end I took for granted! Caching is a major headache. But it's fun and hopefully load time is getting there.
I have noticed a huge jump in random spam comments but Akismet is catching them nicely. So, on the whole, I'm happy with my new system.
Hope everyone else is enjoying their blogging adventures too.0
