How much traffic do you get Jenny?0

About 50 - 100 views a day I think so not many.
More if I post more but I have only been posting once or twice a week recently. Turned into a lazy blogger! Lots of ideas but limited time.0 -

Some blogs seem to be run like businesses (some of the SAHM ones especially) but that would take all the fun out of it for me. It would be like a job! I would feel awfully responsible if I recommended or advertised a product that turned out not to live up to expectations.
A good point Jenny. Blogs were originally intended to be an online diary, somewhere where you can record your own thoughts, your own interests, and make a few friends along the way. They have now evolved into a massive advertising business. People are now looking for additional ways to make money because it is so hard to find a real job. I don't blame anyone for doing that, as long as they are upfront about what they are doing from the start. I personally ignore all adverts on blogs, and indeed, I do not read any blogs which have too many adverts on. They are a big turn off for me.
I am bombarded with spam comments. Anyone who posts a comment on my blog with a link in, will get zapped. Advertising by the back door really anoys me.

I be quite happy with that if I can get a result like that in a few months. I'm not great with SEO so I just have to cross my fingers.0 -

That is pretty much what mine is - a collection of my (sometimes very) random thoughts, things I like, and photographs that would otherwise not see the light of day. I was amazed that I stuck to it given that my actual diary writing consisted of 3 days per year! It is a bit like a scrapbook to me. But without all the messy glue!
Some blogs seem to be reviewing items every other post - you just can't tell if they actually like the product or just like being paid to advertise it.
I have been lucky with spam - I don't think my blog is big enough to attract those comments. I have had some nasty comments but they weren't selling anything!0 -

My first post was on 4th December 2010 and I haven't hit 50 thousand views yet. Not far off though!
I don't know what SEO is - I just write and people occasionally find my blog. Link ups help though! Plus they are a great way to find other blogs to read.0 -

No, I'm not great with SEO either, all that goboldygook goes right over the top of my head. It's 1561 posts over about four years which have got me 90,000 page views a month. You can do the same James, all you need is a passion in what you are writing about. You're off to a good start.

Your blog is great Ilona. Great idea too I can see why people would want to read your blog0 -
I read about affiliate marketing via blogs on the guardian (just google affiliate marketing guardian) and it mentioned a couple of good places to get started (PM me for a link to the one I ended up using).
It's pretty reputable and I found it pretty clear and easy to set up a blog and get going. I think the main thing is traffic though.0 -
Your obviously not marketing a product are you Kate? With one post and desperate for bloggers to pm you for links.
Try somewhere else 'Kate'0
