I've had a very good month so far this month with Adsense, I'm up to nearly £200 earnings, usually it's somewhere £40-80. I think it is the tweaks I have made after reading about SEO. Either way it's really taken off this month, will have to see how it does next month :)

When this thread stated off it was about giving each other tips on blogging. It seems a few people lately have used it as a place to promote their own sites. I'd like to remind you of the Mse rules on that.

I have been blogging for quite a while but I don't really understand the technical stuff (SEO??) so basically just potter around in my little corner of the internet.

I don't have advertisements on my blog or Adsense or anything like that but I would like more people to read my blog. Just so I am not talking to myself really! :)

What are the really key basics so that your blog is found / searchable?

Interest in my blog is already going to be pretty limited just because it is a bit fluffy and random.

How many unique visits does your site get per month to generate that sort of AdSense revenue?

I don't do the whole analytics thing so no idea how many unique visits but I had 550k page views. I think this was just a one off as I usually have less than half the earnings, will see what happens this month.

I set up a blogger site a little over a year ago for technical tips that I come across in my job (IT technician) one of the posts has done really well 5000 hits as its how to fix a certain printer.

On Tuesday I added a link to paypal so if anyone wanted to buy me a beer for my help they could just transfer £2.00, I know its cheeky but with the amount of traffic I thought why not. I checked my paypal today and a very kind guy from America has done exactly this, £2! I looked into donation button but these are a no no if you are not a charity from what I have read.

    Thumbs up to blogging! :D

    Hi,
i will be registering as self employed in the next couple of weeks, and at the moment im setting up my website, i design and make vintage wedding stationery, and thought it would be good to have a blog featuring wedding design idea`s, offer free printables, and giveaways. my website gives me the option to add a blog which i like the idea of as my sellable items will be there aswell, but im not sure whether this would get the same kind of hits as say a blogger, blog etc, can i advertise my business on a normal blog? with links to my website? any advice would be much appreciated thank you.

I would just make use of the blog option you have on your website. just make good use of seo and promote your blog using tags/labels etc. You can link items in your blog to the main webpage and also say stuff like please head over to the blog article here for more info. no need to separate it if you do not need to

Going to be reading over these posts over the next few days. I am so keen to start a blog myself lately. I want to write about tips I've learned about being a student. Thanks to everyone for posting their information and success stories are great motivation!
