Blogging for a second income - does anyone else here do this?

Just out of interest, is blogging income from Adsense taxable?

And, how do you physically receive the money? Electronic transfer? Cheque?

I believe its up to you to sort out the tax for it, but only when you are earning over a certain threshold.

unless I've misunderstood it that link's for when you're eligible for payment etc. from adsense , not when/if/what level you need to declare your earnings.

Thanks for the q JMR52 - was going to ask similar. Just to add, do you/when do you have to declare earnings from affiliate links (amazon etc) and other adbanners/sponsored posts?

I think its because I said I had a discount code for the hosting. Never mind.

Just set up another blog. Does anyone know any good free SEO guides? Really need to work on my SEO skills. I have Ultimate SEO plugin for wordpress (better than all-in-one SEO).

Does anyone know if you can ask for certain ads in adsense not to come up. I'm afraid I'm getting scientology advertisements currently! AHH!

Try making the opening paragraph of each page as relevant as possible. Use key words in this section which will trigger better ads. It's also good practise for SEO

Tried it early this year and yes its hard work. You need to think long term and make regular updates to stay within Google results plus regular visitors will keep on coming back. Though, you hardly will egt any clicks from your regular visitors, what you need is Search Engine visitors a they're the ones who click most. To get those, you need to get high results in Google and to do that, you need to learn SEO.
