Glad to see this topic is alive. Havn't been on forums for a while. Pulled the plug on both my blogs a week or so ago. As mentioned previously in this topic, was getting loads of traffic, making a decent amount of money from adsense finally, and also making a nice ammount from affiliate programmes, and boom google ban me. They say due to suspicious click activity, but I just don't understand how. I never ever clicked my own ads or asked people to spam click them, I am not a moron as I realise how strict google are on this. Of course I appealed, I wrote a huge appeal and spent a day writing it, but I doubt they even read it as I just got banned for good.
So yea after finally making an actual nice amount through my hard work on blogs this happens and it's put me off for good. I thought about setting up an adsense in my girlfriends name as I have a few domain names for projects that I intended to start but I just don't see the point now. I am still baffled as to why I got banned. I noticed in the days running up to the ban my clickthrough ratio went through the roof, and I just assumed it was some moron spam clicking my ads or something, but surely I don't get penalised for that??
Anyway I hope everyone's blog experiences go better than mineMake sure you submit new content REGULARLY to climb the google page ranks, submitting in chunks every few weeks isn't good.
That's terrible. I'm really sorry to hear that, and I am wondering if It's worth all the work if Google can be so fickle. Have you thought of Adbrite? They're less fussy.
And there are always affiliate networks such as Affiliate Window
Additionally, it might be worth applying to money4banners so you can earn £5 a month for each site. not a lot i know but it might pay for the domain0 -
Can anyone give me any tips or advice on Wordpress blogs?
I'm in the process of setting up a database and will soon be up and running. Any particularly good plug-ins for SEO I might find useful, or any generally useful information?0 -
Does anyone use money4banners and can they show me their blogs where they use them so I can see what they look like?GC - Oct £36.17/£31

I have a website displaying their banner. i'm not sure blogs get accepted unless you have static pages0 -
Thanks for replying Daz but your homepage on your profile doesn't show any banners. Quite a few people on here say they make money from blogging but don't put their pages on their profile, I wonder why, surly they want to promote themselves.GC - Oct £36.17/£31

Just found this thread :j
I've set up my blog a couple of days ago, definitely a main stream topic but I'm hoping that it's witty enough for people to stick with it, I'm going to get another couple of posts up before I start spreading the word through friends etc. but it is live at the moment.
Going read back through the earlier posts on this thread to see about promoting it more and getting the most out of it."Organic!! I grew up on Angel Delight..." - Dylan Moran0 -
Great start to your blog...just check the spellings on intro (one daughter). Promote through Facebook, Twitter etc....!!!!! yourself out there and get some decent ads. check out paid for review as you obviously have talent in that area. I have been blogging for two years, got lots of followers, it's a bit of fun. I can't be bothered to make money out of it. Good luck to those who do.
