If I were to set up two different blogs through my blogger account, would they be linked in anyway? As in, would someone be able to click through to my profile and see my other blogs? If they can, is there any way to stop this? I've got an existing blog but I want to start another one that's very different to the first one and I don't want them to be linked at all. Any thoughts would be appreciated, cheers
Yes, they are linked to your profile so you can see other blogs on the same account. No, I don't think there is any way around it, other than to set up wordpress on your own domain.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Hi FabSascha,
I think if you go to your Dashboard on Blogger, then click on Edit Profile, there's an option there where you can select the blogs you want to show when someone looks at your profile. If you click on Select Blogs to Display, it'll show the list of blogs you currently have on Blogger. You can then select the ones you want your profile to display (or not, as the case may be).

Some interesting stuff in here guys, Ive been running our blog for 6 or 7 months now, I tend to blog every other day, sometimes more, sometimes less, but the key to it all is keep blogging the spiders are always looking for new content, so if your not blogging you wont be getting looked at.0

Just to reiterate that quality content and both inward and outward interaction is the absolute key going forward in this market. SEO is important only in that it makes these attributes of your blog more visible. If your blog is basically about SEO, then your future is limited.

These days, you're up against content mills such as ehow, and you're also up again search engines who want to find results that are organically, genuinely useful, not created purely to fill a "niche" and who are trying to find ways to demote the unhelpful pages on content mill sites. Blogs will be collateral damage here.
Try to make sure your content is actually useful, not superficially relevant and based around keywords. Maximise the interaction you have with authoritative websites in your area.0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm really new to the blogging thing but mine is more of a personal blog - I was just wondering is it ok to link to other websites? I have included a news story from the Daily Mail in my blog, I have no visitors at the moment because it's only been set up a day and I'm not yet sure whether I wish to let people view as yet - i'm writing a few posts first. Just wondering is it ok to link to direct articles on sites such as the Daily Mail without asking permission? I assume it is ok because it's on the web and anyone can access this content anyway?
Any help would be much apreciated.0 -
Glad to see this topic is alive. Havn't been on forums for a while. Pulled the plug on both my blogs a week or so ago. As mentioned previously in this topic, was getting loads of traffic, making a decent amount of money from adsense finally, and also making a nice ammount from affiliate programmes, and boom google ban me. They say due to suspicious click activity, but I just don't understand how. I never ever clicked my own ads or asked people to spam click them, I am not a moron as I realise how strict google are on this. Of course I appealed, I wrote a huge appeal and spent a day writing it, but I doubt they even read it as I just got banned for good.
So yea after finally making an actual nice amount through my hard work on blogs this happens and it's put me off for good. I thought about setting up an adsense in my girlfriends name as I have a few domain names for projects that I intended to start but I just don't see the point now. I am still baffled as to why I got banned. I noticed in the days running up to the ban my clickthrough ratio went through the roof, and I just assumed it was some moron spam clicking my ads or something, but surely I don't get penalised for that??
Anyway I hope everyone's blog experiences go better than mineMake sure you submit new content REGULARLY to climb the google page ranks, submitting in chunks every few weeks isn't good.

That's really bad, and I sympathize with you. But it is the reason I don't trust adsense very much. I mainly write around amazon products... much hard for nutbars to send your hard work to /dev/null.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Hello,
Newbie to blogging here! *waves*
People have mentioned in previous posts that you can make money by putting adverts on your blog. Is this still a possibility with blogspot.com? And how do I do it?
