Evening all!
2 NSDs in a row for me - it does help that I've come to Porto today with work! OH is well stocked up for the few days that I'm away though and shouldn't need to get anything else (maybe milk but he can cough up for that!)
With 2 weeks shopping left to do (one on Saturday and one the week after) I should be able to come in on target this month - about flipping time!
Will use the "down time" whilst I am away to browse the web and find some new recipes to try over the next few weeks - I'm getting fed up of the same diet food and need to reinvigorate my cooking and diet! Any veggie meals are very welcome!0 -
Update £112.20 spent of my £150 budget and I am two weeks in. This includes quite a lot of bulk buying which will last me a few weeks.
Have quite a few meals in the freezers and my cupboards are well stocked too. Am determined to keep within budget.0 -
Oh Bum! I made a right boo-boo today at Lidl. They had some gorgeous looking, really huge pears so I picked up four (one for each of us) expecting them to be as reasonable as Lidl usually is.
Pulled out the receipt to add to my challenge total and have noticed that the 4 pears cost £3.16 :eek: That's more than a main family meal would usually cost. That'll teach me to not think about weight per kilo price seriously!
They'd better taste as nice as they look :rolleyes:DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Hey all,
I am doing extremely well avoiding the shops at all costs!
Had some lovely chilli mince with wholewheat spaghetti tonight and have made some nice choc crispie cakes to enjoy with a cuppa later.
Loving this thread, so many good tips!

Evening all
Ooooooooh don't even look at my sig. as I am already quite alot over this month. What can I say in my defence? Well I do buy local butcher's meat and I am growing my own veggies (obviously not quickly enough) and I do buy very good free range eggs and I do cook alot from scratch and share some of the proceeds with my 2 sons families. Hmmmm, not much of an excuse I suppose. I did actually suggest to DH that I should stop doing the GC because I''m hopeless, but he actually said he didn't want me to stop, because he thinks we eat alot better now and for a lot less money (I used to spend around £200-£250 easily each month). If I raise the budget I know I will go over that limit as well, so I think it best to keep it where it is and go for damage limitation -especially this month. On the upside, I have some nice meat and lovely fresh eggs and the cupboards and fridge are full. Must do some more batch cooking though to stock up the freezer. I managed to make 4 herb loaves today and 2 quiches so that's a start, but now I've realised I'm out of yeast:eek: Oh well tomorrow is another day. Hope the budgets are going well for everyone elseSealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

I spent £37.25 in asda yesterday!!!! i only went in for a few bit's i hate going to asda for this very reason sigh.
I did manage to get all the salad stuff i need for the week as well as topping up my baking supplies as i was compleatly out of flour etc, I also bought 30 eggs which should last me to the end of the month, there was nothing really really frivolous but still im not happy i really need to walk into asda buy what i went for and leave.
