I'm quite sure it would be possible to say that about almost anything...!

True. I just thought people might be interested to see what they may be watching movies on in a few years.

If the BBC would bring back Tomorrow's World (I still remember hearing about the "Information Super-Highway" on it), it would save me the bother. ;)

You can get a Blu-Ray player for £140, so I don't think it's prohibitively expensive.

Can implies its one of the cheapest ones out, which is not always the best advice on buying. £140 may not be expensive to you, but it is to me aswell as the films ontop of that having an added premium.

Reminds me of when DVD's where first about and I was one to buy early. I girl at work was saying it was a rip off as you had to buy a new player and DVD's cost more.

All I had to ask is do you own a Cd player? to which the answer was yes. So I asked why as she had to buy a new player and CD's cost more than tapes, her answer was because CD's are better, case closed.

As mentioned players are getting to the point where they are resonable and there is more and more HDTV's out there (more due to flatness than HD'ness I think).

Personally I have a few blu-rays and even more HD-DVD's as a bought them up when they where cheap and the difference is massive compared to DVD, but with that I am do have a 1080p TV (native).
