Had number two a few months back...I can't see how you could just wear bigger clothes through your whole pregnancy, especially skirts/pants. I found H & M mama great this time round, also Pumpkin Patch had some nice things. I reiterate the comments other have made about ebay...I have just sold my Isabella Oliver stuff on ebay - it was very expensive new and I got good prices for it, but well below what it cost me and in perfect condition, so there are bargains to be had.
It also depends on what you do for work - I had to have three pairs of "smart" pants to go with my jackets...again, I will sell these on ebay, but I don't think the prices will be so high for these items.
By the time you get to 8 months, (especially in the summer) you probably won't care what you are wearing, you will just want to have it over and done with!0 -

I second this, Don't expect to get in your skinny jeans for a good while, maybe even ever  :rotfl:0 -

For your top half I can thoroughly recommend maternity vest tops. H&M do really long ones, and they are brilliant for layering. I would wear a vest top underneath a floaty gypsy-style top, and the vest would peek out underneath, covering the jersey panel on my trousers. They were then brilliant for wearing when breatfeeding, as you could hitch one top up but keep the vest covering the left-over belly!0

Long Vest tops were fantastic for me too! I used the tank top variety with the racer backs. They covered the panel so you didn't feel silly.
I also wore my husbands vest tops! He has the racer style back ons too and they fitted perfectly just like my maternity ones!0 -

If you have a Next Clearance near you then you can get some marvelous buys. I know there is one in Birmingham town centre and at Freeport in Braintree. Also 'Choice' is good for Next maternity seconds, there is one in Basildon and Clacton. I have no idea where any of the others are but i had trousers for a fiver and all sorts and as it will be warming up by the time you get bigger then you will only really need t shirts etc. Gawd this has just reminded me of being pregnant this time last year!0

I thought Asda George stuff was good when I was pregnant. But to be honest, I looked like I had a spacehopper up my jumper and there's no way I could have got away with ordinary clothes in a bigger size.
And I put nearly 5 stone on so I'd have been buying a whole lot of 'next size ups'! At least with maternity trousers, you buy one pair and they just keep and keep expanding!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
For other clothes I picked up things in mothercare & dorothy perkins sales, asda, next clearance shop, but for jeans I really wished I'd splashed out on a pair that really fit well. I got a pair in Asda for £15 which I've only worn a few times as each time I've worn them they just won't stay up! Am now 35 weeks so if they don't stay up now there's not much hope :rotfl: I really wish I'd decided to either not wear jeans for the duration (which I've ended up doing anyway) or pay more for a pair that I'd have got my money's worth out of.£2 savers club - £62
Relaunched grocery challenge:
