Be carefull that you can claim benefits or JSA if you are resigning as i think you cant.
You would better off sacked that way if asked the company would have to say why and it would make them look bad and not you?
yeah mate this has been pointed out to the op but she wants to leave rather than get sacked just in case it comes up when applying for jobs.0 -
It's debrags post but seeing as we're in the same boat and it was a relevant question to both of us I asked it after the post deatiling jsa entitlements etc.
Being sacked is not the better option!!!!0 -
my OH left and had to wait claim.0

Ok hope i can help a bit.
to get JSA you will need to show that either you lost your job, or had no choice but to leave.or they may not pay you anything.
You should get housing and council tax benefit regardless as its a different way of assessing. You will need to have bank statements, P45, and a benefits letter to prove your income from the date your claiming. You have the right to sign on even if they are not paying anything. Make sure you make your claim on the monday after your last day at work. If you have any documents showing the FSA rules etc then all good. - Be prepared to have to see CAB to help you claim if the JSA impose the rules.
your sticking point might be that as you were not yet declared bankrupt at the time you gave your notice and left work, so i suggest you pay your fees very quickly.
stop your payments to creditors and stock up on food, travel card etc to see you through. it is taking anything up to 6 weeks to get a JSA claim though right now.
as for how much a sngle persons entitlement is £65 per week for over 25's.
I hope that helps
I only have one more DMP payment (21st May) if I'd thought about this a little soon I would have had 2
About BR now will that look at my wages for this month (21st-21st)? My SOA isn't going to be the same and I can pay my DMP this coming month.
The hardest thing about my LHA claim is that I have to find out what share of the bills my rent covers as it's incl0 -

sorry what you asking here?0 -
sorry will they look at my wages and see I can pay my bills this month or look ahead and see I'll have little money.
Plus I can't afford the fees till my last pay anyways0 -
they will understand you need money to live on till your JSA comes in,and also if you can not pay ALL your creditors because you need the money for food etc they dont like it if you just pay some and not others so don't pay any apart from rent gas etc.0

If you are going bankrupt then don't pay the DMP or any other debts. As Sniggings says pay your essential outgoings only.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
